Would you mod your car to GT3 look?
Would you mod your car to GT3 look?
Hello All,
Although the 991 Carrera (and all of its predecessor) is a beauty in almost every way, I am just curious as to how many people would (or be interested in) go through the process of modding your car to the GT3 look?

Is certainly think about the front end. I got the sport design front end and like it but the gt3 front looks much more aggressive. I like an aggressive looking car much more and would have liked to have gotten the gt3 but need the back seats and all wheel drive where I live.
Yes I see myself doing that in the future when I add on x51 package and other mods. I still of course would leave 'carrera S' emblems on. I'm thinking aerokit front, gt3 deck lid and a V-GT rear diffuser. Poser? Maybe a little. But it's my car and I have the right to do as I please. Will I tell anyone it's a gt3? Of course not.
I may just end up trading in for a gt3, but we'll see.

PsychoSid would and I'm sure he would tell us all about it if he were still on the forum. He already had designs on getting front and rear bumpers. All this on a a 4S cabrio.
Come back Sid! Come back!

Nope. My car looks better than a GT3. Moreover, a GT3 design to me basically says look at me because I desperately need attention but you would probably expect a guy, who chooses a gray car to eschew the GT3 markings. Heck I took the S badge off and sometimes wonder if I should take the Porsche markings off, too. :roll eyes: Apologies to my GT3 brethren.
PS Salute to the 911 pilot, who properly returned the double flash today in Vienna, VA. I think we may be the only two people left in America doing it.

If I was using the car the way the GT3 is intended to be used, then the wing for added downforce and air extraction scoops for cooling would make sense. But since I am not, anything added to the basic 911 body shell just strikes me as detracting from the very refined intrinsic design.
I respectfully disagree that GT3 look on a Carrera is for posers. Each one of those parts have a purpose and they perfectly blend in with the 911 body. After all, Carrera has the exact same body with GT3. So if you like to take advantage of some GT3 parts without paying the GT3 price, you still end up with an amazing looking and amazing performing car. That being said, I also understand that the GT3 look may be too aggressive for some.
Got my first double flash a week ago but was caught unawares and was only able to wave in reply. Will try to be prepared in the future.

To answer OP's question, never for me.

I respectfully disagree. I wouldn't view everyone that owns a GT3 as wanting attention. The reason that I plan on buying one, is to have a factory car that is made for the track. And since I track my cars every month of the year, I believe the GT3 is the perfect car for that.
