Deciding between 2 rims 991 Carrera S
Deciding between 2 rims 991 Carrera S
New to the forum, longtime lurker - ordering a 991 2S and torn between two rims - options are PSE, SPASM, Sport Chrono, Guards Red Seat Belts, Black Interior, Sport Wheel, Sport Seats
Option 1: Platinum Satin Carrera S Wheels
Option 2: Turbo Wheels (couldn't find a GR CS2 with these wheels)
Any help is definitely appreciated!

Option #1: Beautiful finish, understated looks, doesn't distract you away from the car, and easy to maintain.
Option #2: Rare, makes you actually pay attention to the wheels, hard to clean.

Of those two, I'd choose the first. The turbo wheels look huge and out of place on that build photo. Although they do look nice in person
How about this option, get the base wheels, then shop for aftermarket ones. There are very nice ones that can be cheaper money wise than OEM. Just a thought.

Decisions, Decisions... I have been thinking about these two rim styles for the past 2 days - haven't seen the turbo wheels in person, especially on a non-turbo carrera
Option 1: I think these really change the personality of the car, but I am afraid of them looking like the Carrera S rims with brake dust on them. Love how the calipers look through the rims, easy to clean
Option 2: Beautiful rims, look amazing clean, probably very difficult to keep clean, but turbo rims on a non-turbo car??

I like the wheel in the first pic, at least based on the photos posted.
IMO…certain Porsche wheels look better than others based on the lines of the car. For example, I wash't a big fan of the sport techno wheel on the 996 but thinks it looks great on the 991.
I like the wheel that comes on the 997.2 GT3RS, and the wheel in the first pic has a similar style.
FWIW I wouldn't worry about turbo wheels on a non turbo car. It's still a 911 and is an OEM porsche wheel. Look at how many 997 models are equipped with the original .1 turbo wheel. This styled carried over to the 991…not a fan of the newer version of it.
Have you considered a gloss black wheel? To my eye, gloss black and red works very well together.

I'm usually not a fan of turbo wheels because they are too shiney, but saw them at the airport parking garage today and liked them. Satin-mat are everywhere (myself included), do something different. If I were to order another GR, I would do body color. There is a local Cayenne with body color and it looks fantastic.
If they are an option, they don't look out of place.

I had Carrera SIII wheels and I wish they looked like that with brake dust on them.
I guess I'm in the minority, but I think the Turbo wheels look much better.
Agreed on the Sport Technos, I think they are the best looking of the bunch (not counting the GT3 wheels of course). I disliked the Sport Technos on my 996 C4S, but they work great on 991s (though the design has been refined).

On your build, option 1 looks way better. IMO the Turbo wheels look very nice on a Macan, not on a 911... (Although I have to admit that they look better in person, but still they're SUV-wheels)
