I have the burmester. Sometimes it will play the 5.1 DVDs just fine, other times nothing at all. Anyone else have this issue? It's quite annoying and it seems to be a 50/50 shot as to wether it will play. Any workarounds/fixes? The sound is just amazing when it works.

 

Is the issue that there is no sound at times when playing, or it reads the disc and says it is not compatible?

 

I doesn't say it's not compatible. It just says chapter 1 or whatever chapter it's on on the screen but no sound, it just freezes. Other times it works great and the sound is awesome. Regular CDs always play fine. Some of the DVDs are 5.1. The only way I've found to work around it is to shut off the car and try again later although shutting off the car for a couple of minutes and turning it back on usually doesn't work.

 

I occasionally have the same problem, allowing the PCM to reboot seems to resolve it. It has occurred less since I had the PCM software updated to 4.52.
