I'm really beginning to wonder if I'll ever see more than 48 miles on my new 991S.

I've been spending a lot of time here reading; especially Serge's epic thread. So this morning I went ahead and ordered the AWE Switchpath Exhaust system. I'm also planning to stop by Euro Tech on Franklin Turnpike and look into the ECU flash.

Hopefully, spring will get here someday.

I hear ya Tina! I am sitting here in PA watching the snow pile-up to the bottom of my windows right now and dreaming of driving when I can actually see the roads!

I too have been ordering various bits and pieces for projects I can complete in my heated garage....

AWE switchpath exhaust seems like a great choice. Are you going to drive down to visit the AWE shop here in PA? You know, Fabspeed is right down the road from AWE.....

As for the exhaust are you planning on installing yoursel when it arrives?

Thanks Tina! We have only had 2 days of snow in Atlanta and have been wondering what I could buy next too
I have the new Turbo clear LED side markers on order but Porsche seems to be shipping them one at a time from Germany, so it is going to take a while...
I hope you get some better weather soon!

Geez I hear ya. Car is sitting in heated garage while another 6-12 inches of snow here in Boston come down. I was looking at led side markers and a third radiator.

Thinking of moving to Florida!!

I'm looking forward to a nice long cruise once this crazy weather breaks. Perhaps I will pay a visit to Fabspeed.

In the meantime, the exhaust is ordered and will be delivered to my friend's shop (Tirri Motors) in Suffern, NY.

George Tirri, who'd been the service director for Jack Daniels Porsche/Audi for many years, finally took everyone's advice and opened his own place. He also took one of the top techs (Dennis) along with him. Many local Porsche enthusiasts now have a nice alternative for getting work done. He also works on other types of cars. He recently installed an Akrapovic exhaust system on my brother's ZO6.

For tuning, I had used Euro Tech for my previous S4. Both of those owners also came from Jack Daniels. It seams that dealership is losing all its top talent.

Various projects I have lined-up or in-play while the snow continues to pile-up outside:
  • LED clear sides (on order)
  • Rear Back-Up Camera / PCM Integration (on order)
  • 7mm / 15mm RSS Spacers
  • Sport Design Mirrors (trying to order!)
There are others that I have yet to make a decision on....
  • Exhaust. I believe AWE is the way to go at this point, but since I happen to live within 10 miles of both AWE and Fabspeed I figured I would actually visit both shops and get to know them and their products before finalizing. May also be interested in a couple other products from them....
  • Rear Diffuser - not sure of which. Like the Vorsteiner but man it is pricey compared to other more "simple" offerings from Techart and the likes.
  • Escort / Laser Shifting integration: just researching at this point, not clear what direction I want to head with this.
Always looking for more ideas....

First thing you should buy is a set of winter wheels/tires so you can go out and enjoy the car you paid so much for. I've been daily driving my 991S all winter and with the proper tires it is unstoppable and still a ton of fun.

I would highly advise against an ECU flash, especially one under warranty. I also would advise against modifying the exhaust, at the least until you put a lot of miles on the stock one and decide whether you like it or not.

Hi, Jersey Shore. It's not EuroTech's tune; they send out the ECU for flashing. In some cases, they can flash the car themselves once the company who created the tune allows for direct downloads.

Have to admit I don't get the draw on the aftermarket exhausts. I'm still loving the sound of the S in Sport and Super Sport...you guys need even more?

Tell me about it. Had the new 991 delivered on Monday. Started snowing 3 hours later. But I did manage to get more than 48 miles on it! lol

Oh don't exaggerate!..

It was maybe 83 and slightly overcast until 10 AM and it dipped down to the high 60s last night.. If this keeps up I may need to put a sweater in the car just in case.. or who knows it could possible lightly sprinkle..

Keep warm on the east coast guys
