If you dont mind the looks, its worth it for the extra insurance in that time you or your wife spaces out. The beeping alerts will make you alert, but dont expect anything more than those audible alerts. I was spoiled coming from bmw where they have green lines in the rear view camera that guide you into those tough parallel parking spots when you are reversing.

I have them and would definitely order them again. I don't find them unattractive at all. They pretty much visually disappear, IMO. These days it's odd to see a car without them.

They are worth it and can save some bumper rash issues. Rear visibility is not that great and they saved my bumper a couple of times. A refinished bumper is costly and not good for resale.

Problem is the system is too sensitivity and may go on for no reason. After my PCM was replaced for it, the issue remains. Porsche has a Service Advisory about it. The system picks up radio interference and sets it off even when you are not near any objects. At least it is only transient.

they do look ugly especially in the front. But 1 bumper scrape and it will negate your savings! especially if ur wife will drive the car.

As the guy who might be buying your used car in 2-3 yrs I say don't get them. They're ugly. Also please don't get the rear wiper. While you're at it full leather and sport seats would be nice too.

Thanks,

I wish they weren't so visible and admit that a rear camera would be better aesthetically, but I live in NYC and street park in some tight spots regularly. The sensors give me the peace of mind to park my MT car in a tight spot on a hill without worrying about getting a small nick in my bumper cover and a repaint.
I'd be more worried about the drivers parking in front and behind you. Most NYC drivers use their bumpers as parking sensors: drive forward till you hit the car in front of you, back up till you hit the car behind, repeat. And, if space is a little tight, no worries, see if you can push the car behind back a little.

Yeah, not real interested in pleasing my cars next owner. But I'm pretty sure I'm not going to have any problem finding a buyer.. I'm also not going to pay to over maintain my car for him either so he gets to 150K miles instead of 130K..

Actually I don't even notice them... I'd much rather have the ugly headlight washers off the front, which just looks like a zit on the front end.. And completely useless.. God you accidentally use them and they splatter the entire car.. Now that's something I'd like to get rid off...

Thumbs up

I have front & rear on the cabrio. It's about on par with what my '09 MINI S cabrio had new. Years-old technology and outdated for a Porsche, but, that's Porsche.

It works, in my experience. Only time I ever had it mis-read was when I pulled out of a snow-covered parking spot, over the plow-ridge, and some snow stuck in there. I just turned it off that time. I really don't notice the sensors.

Usually it just informs me when I'm in the sweet spot in the garage, but every so often it'll help out Bessy in the wild.

Lol, a friend I had a couple of years ago from NY and I were out and he was parking and did that in LA when I was in the car.. Tried to tell me that's how you are supposed to do it, and that's what bumpers are for..!.. Last time I ever got in the car with him. I Didn't really care about his or the other car.. but I just didn't want to get shot by someone...

I have a cab and I use them all the time. I have a pretty sharp turn getting into my garage. So I rely on them to make sure I cut the turn hard enough. If I didn't have them I'm sure I could park just fine but it is handy. Also with a cab it makes backing up much easier. That being said a backup camera would be my preference and much more usable.

Woah, slow down... It's called humor. Chances are you'll live longer with a sense of it

Best of luck with whatever you do.

I ordered without because I find them ugly, even worse with dry wax stuck in them.
Live in NYC and if a space is that tight , I'm not parking there.

If it's a daily driver I'd say do it (as I did), otherwise it's not completely necessary.
