They are loud. Sound like a shop vac. No bones about it there.....they are not quiet.

But that being said, I would think a house would provide enough sound insulation to keep it from waking a sleeping baby.

Looked at this option, but I have a compressor which seems to work fine. I can adjust the pressure and it's filtered. This the MB would be any better?

I have no idea why he cares about the noise level for that very reason. I'll let him know.

There are dozens of YouTube videos that demonstrate the sound. They are vacuum cleaner loud. Not quiet. But not horrible.

Before with a towel dry I find that I can usually wipe the spots off with the relatively damp drying towel.. But with a blow dry, there is no friction by the wiping action to accomplish that. So you end up having to do a little bit of after wiping (my water is pretty hard). Now that I have my CR spotless I don't have that issue...
I'm all set then. . Been using CR Spotless for the past 3 years. Love it!!

I'm on Griot's garage e-mail list & received this today (3/27/14)...price sounds good,
but doesn't mean it's a decent alternative - never say never though.

Have had good results w/ their products.

Hey Steve, I believe that product is a private labeled Master Blaster. Same line of product, just a less powerful hand held model. I purchased model the OP pictured in his original post. It has 2 4HP motors and blows 58,500 feet of air per minute vs. 18,000 for this smaller unit.

I looked at that unit as well.. The reason I didn't go with it was that it just seems too small and light. If you look at the Airmax (or master blaster) they are significantly heavier due to having dual larger high speed motor (they spin at like 20000 RPM).

So my guess this is more along the lower power of an electric leaf blower.. I don't know that since I have not demoed it , but my engineer side can't imagine that a 3 lb engine having anywhere near the power output... I don't believe this has any head applied either.

That doesn't mean it isn't useful, just as many have indicated they use leaf blowers successful, it's just once you use the higher power units and watch them atomize the water on your hood, anything less is just irritating to use..

my $ 0.02

Yeah, I think you will do much better with the larger one you purchased. It's going to be heavier (although it has a hose) but the higher airflow is what really does the trick.... I suspect it is like a leaf blower which works ok, but doesn't have the umph you want..

I use a Rigid wet dry vac with the hose plugged into the outlet for blowing. With a drywall dust HEPA filter, I'm pretty confident it's blowing only clean (but not heated) air. Hoses and attachments are generic and cheap, so I'm able to leave it in the garage and just use several hoses daisy chained.

YMMV

I've done that too, the only thing is I've found you can blow the water back up into the headlights and taillights and cause fogging if you're not careful.

I've found it's just easier to use a soft terry cloth.

Brand new ones on Amazon only cost $307, and no Ebay risk.

Mine was brand new, not used, and included a wall hanger at no extra charge, a $31 MetroVac accessory, for $295 shipped. I bought from a company located suspiciously close to MetroVac's HQ in New York, if you see what I mean? Many manufacturers have ebay departments that do not carry their name.

I got it yesterday and just turned it on. I think it is quieter than my Craftsman shop vac. The whoosh of the air coming out of the hose is louder than the motors inside the housing. I will say, it is incredibly powerful, even with only 1 motor on. It's a nice feature to be able to adjust the airflow by turning on 1 motor or 2. I can already tell I am going to love this tool.
