991 Faux Carbon Fiber Projects

Picked up a roll of this 3D CF Film on eBay (no affiliation). Surprisingly nice stuff...has a 3D texture to it giving it real depth. Even though the backing has an adhesive you can remove and re-apply numerous times to get it just right and work out any air bubbles.

As practice I took the driver's side fuse panel cover off. With some smoothing, heat gun and Exacto blade it came out really nice. Now I'm ready for larger projects. I think I might do the inner door pulls if I can figure out how to get them off.

Have you done any other pieces? I recently did my fuel door because I was getting sick over all the finger prints from the gas station attendants. I can't pump my own gas here in NJ.

Interesting. Do you have pics? I see that MA Carbon sells fuel door in CF.

Yeah, interested to see what it looks like since the curve of the fuel door could be challenging with edges to get them to look clean.

Did the center console. Definitely recommend a set of the
plastic pry tools plastic pry tools
from Amazon...made it easy to pry the console piece off safely.

I might redo it as I've found a small bubble since installing it. But for now it looks awesome.

It's looking good!
Should we stop you when you get to the hood of the car, like the GT2?

I got my CF wrap today. Thanks for the inspiration TRM. Here is the front and back of the fuse box covers. It is a pretty good match for the Porsche real CF trim.

And installed:
