I'll try and listen again to see if it's gone. I haven't paid attention to it as my exhaust sound usually drowns everything else out
Agreed that it really isn't bothersome. Started the thread more to see if it could mean a bigger issue - something failing that of course would last just through my warranty period!

I think there might be two issues on this link, but maybe not. The honk type noise I hear sounds pretty loud at times, especially when idle. Just like a previous post pointed out, I thought it was the breaks maybe or a loose belt of some sort. It is 100% coming from the back of the car. Until this thread, i didn't put two and two together with the strong oil burning smell I get when I stop or turn off the car. If its the oil vent, that would make a lot of sense. I'm waiting to hear back from service. Just hate driving with a honking noise and an oil burning smell thats pretty strong. It's never a comforting feeling.

Paid attention as I was driving today. Definitely keeps happening after the engine is warmed up...

You know what, I have this same "fog" horn sound happen in the parking lot at work, where I pull in an am a couple of inches from some shrubs.. But it is an error sound from my park assist (the front sensors are disconnected accidentally when I had the clear bra installed and haven't gotten back over to get it re-connected).

It doesn't always happen, but it is right after I start up and am close to an object..

mine honk is low level.

it doesnt matter if the car is warm or not. Radio off, air condition does not matter

if i step on the brake its silent. If i let go and let the car creep, it has a low level "fog horn" sound after a few seconds. Also accelerating with gas pedal can cause it. THe duration of hte "sound" can last 4-5 seconds but i can reproduce it easily.

dealer had no idea what the oil vent was.

the sound has went away with either
1. exhaust vacuum line recall
2. instrument cluster recall
3. change of my rear brakes (which) I doubt.

I really hope it's the first one. I'm getting first 2 addressed Monday. Thanks for sharing!

The exhaust vacuum line recall is for non-pse cars - so mine didn't include.

I got the instrument cluster and PDCC updates today

They couldn't reproduce "honk" issue!!!
