How many Porsches have you owned and how many miles did you drive them?
I'm curious as the ownership history of 991 enthusiasts and if they ever owned a Porsche before - and if they actually used them rather than being hanger queens like most Ferraris and Aston Martins. So, the question is how many have you owned, the various models, and appx miles you drove them before moving onto something else? I guess I will start. I'm now on Porsche # 5.
1970 911E: Drove it to 207K miles over 6 years. Fabulous car, sold it for a mere $ 2,200. So light, a joy to drive. Wish I had kept it, especially seeing the prices now of them.
1973 911T Targa: Drove it 14K miles over 18 mos. It was a turd compared to the '70 car. Slow and choked with emissions. Top was a pain.
1996 C4S: Fabulous looking car, but at 286HP it couldn't' keep up with a Subaru STi, and that was the fatal flaw. Only drove it 12K and never bonded with it. Sold it for more than I paid for it to an air-cooled fanatic.
2008 Boxster S: Delightful car, bought brand new (first new Porsche). 987 chassis is very capable. Drove it 15K miles then had to have an Aston Martin for a bit
2014 Carrera S: Back to Porsches. Just picked this one up new 10 days ago. Manual trans. This is probably the most exciting car I've ever owned from a performance standpoint. A real driver's car. I expect to have this one for a bit.

First Porsche for me. Have owned my fair share of Mercedes. Its my wives daily driver, yes I'm in charge of hauling the kids around. Its my evening/weekend car

2 P-cars...1st was this 2000 996 (bought new). Had the world's supply of oil leaks & electrical problems. 5K miles in 6 months & said goodbye. H&R springs & Fabspeed

Current 991S....purchased new 1/13. Now 12.5K miles and relatively trouble free.
