Upshift Indicator

So this wasn't annoying me for a while, but it is again. The upshift indicator to save gas is supposed to come on in "Normal" mode. But based on the manual, it should not come on during "Sport" and "Sport Plus" mode. Mine is active all of the time. I've attached the picture from the manual.
Have others noticed this? Mine is a 2014 C2S. Others have mentioned they can turn it off through the PCM. If so, how?

Weird. My indicator is disabled in Sport and Sport Plus as the manual says.

The setting is accessed through the main Vehicle screen. Not sure which specific menu, but I'll check at lunch.

Thanks. I'd hate to take the car in to service just for this. And honestly, I don't think my service department is informed enough to know where in the menu it is.

I feel you. Check under:

On the main vehicle info screen: Vehicle --> Settings
On the shift assist screen: Settings

Just going off memory here. It clearly lists the feature under one of the menus.

There we go:

Vehicle -- Settings -- Display -- "Shift Request"

Taken from a Panamera manual, but applicable to 991s:

Excellent! Didn't know we could disable this Camry-esque feature.

Very informative post. I didn't realize we could disable this either. I don't really notice it because I very rarely drive in normal mode, but it seems that the upshift indicator comes on the second I tap the gas! I guess I will never, ever, drive this car economically.

I'd also be curious to know if anyone with a 2014 model has the same issue where it's on even in the sportier modes. I noticed the cars in this post that don't have the issue are 2013.

It seems to always stay on in my 2014

I kind of suspected this. I'll try to see if I can turn it off tonight and report back.

Sounds like it's a 2014-on feature.

Meaning you've tried disabling it, but it still turns on?

I have a 2014 C2S and the setting doesn't appear under "display". My dealership can't help. Sigh.

The menu in mine doesn't have that option. I just sat and went through every menu. I'm pretty tech savvy, but hopefully I'm just missing something. Or maybe I have to live with the fact that the 2014s have the annoying little triangle on at all times. It will be especially important for those of you who track your cars in Sports Plus to know when to save gas.
