Is my key possessed?

First the facts. I have keyless entry. I have had the car for just over two year. I was emptying my pockets into a basket on my desk. My Porsche keys were in that basket. BAM a red LED flashed from the window of the car shaped key. I never noticed the window. I never noticed an LED. Wow!

Is my key possessed? Is it being controlled by space aliens who will make it suck out my brains while I sleep? (Boy are they in for a disappointment). Is it a BS detector and it is indicating that somewhere a politician is telling a lie? (Likely not or it would never go off) Or is it just a warning that I need an new battery?

More likely needs a new battery. LoJack dies the same thing. Shouldn't be too difficult to switch out yourself.

GQsOwn is infamous around these parts
My key does the same thing and I am pretty sure it doesn't need a new battery its only 5 months old! I thought it was telling the car I am safe and no need to come pick me up.

We all have keyless entry, I assume you are talking about keyless ignition (i.e. Enter and Drive?)..

In any case I think you just need to change your battery..

Or it could actually be you were probed in your sleep by aliens and it is just the remnants of that.
