Build Timeline Question
When you get the name from the dealer, go to marinetraffic.com and track it while it's close to land. The dealer knows the status of the car each step of the way.
It's about 10 days from Emden to east coast, customs could be as short as a day and it goes right on a truck, there isn't much fat, they move them along quickly, it's all logistics.
Usually the biggest wait is for the ship at Emden, they build/ship cars knowing exactly when they need to be at port to catch what ship.
Good luck.

Thanks j080808, appreciate the info in the post!
I know the ports (especially here) have been a mess of late, but they seem to be somewhat caught up thankfully.
Hopefully, from what I've read, that'll put the car at the dealer some time next week (assuming it's at sea now).

**UPDATE** Just spoke with the dealer and the car is on the water!!
hawc, the vessel name is Seven Seas Highway I'm told. Due into the Port of Rhode Island (this differs from my original information) on 5/9.

Marina Ace is the name of the ship and it left Emden on the 23rd. Due to land in Halifax on the 2nd of May. These dates may be off by a day or two as the system takes some additional time to update.
I'm thinking if my car lands in Halifax on the 2nd of May I should definitely get it earlier than the 30th of May delivery date they gave me. Am I wrong?
The car my boat is on looks like this (no not the one tipped):
This is yours:

That is funny! I assume the Marina Ace won't be making a call in Rhode Island, and if it does I'd be curious to understand why my build wasn't aboard.
Yeah, I think you'll see your car sometime in early to mid May, as 30 days for the inland transfer seems excessive.

nj991s, not surprised that your car's on a ship heading to Davistown, R.I. I think that's the port that Porsche always uses for cars coming to the NE. I was surprised when you said Newark, NJ. Either way, great news that your car is on the water. Should be here within 2 weeks hopefully (or 3 at the outside I'd say).
Edit: Davisville, R.I. (it's been about 11 months since my car was on the water).

So turns out the vessel tracking is pretty useless. Unless you have the paid satellite subscription service you can only see the ship when it's near shore. That means if you try and track my ship the last update was from April 25th. Yours looks like it's from today but it's saying your ship is still off the coast of Ireland. I think it's made more progress than that.
Anyway, if anyone has access to the satellite subscription service it would be cool to know where the ships actually are in real time.
Mine is supposed to be in Halifax today, but is still showing it in Europe from last week.

I was going to ask if your ship landed! The last few days are killer!! Having the same experience with the site, and my last posted update is just after midnight on the 1st, and I assume that's their local time, so it's actually a Wednesday trace. The ETA has also fallen off, and at last report, had a port arrival scheduled for 5/10; again, not certain what time they are using, so that could be the 9th.
German water torture!!

Suggest you sign up tot text email updates and then it will alert you automatically..
On the east cost you probably won't see anything until it hits port.. On the west coast we see it when it hits the Caribbean and the Panama Canal..
My car is on North American soil now. Just landed in Halifax. I checked the vessel trackers and the Marina Ace is unloading right now. It seems it was moored out in the harbour for a few days before pulling in to the dock. But it's there now.

That's awesome! I checked on it the other day and saw it was in a holding pattern just offshore. I've spent the past few days organizing and cleaning the garage for arrival. I'm still in the "black hole" and hope I'll be pleasantly surprised one of these times that I check in on the Seven Seas Highway.
