I don't think there's any way your car is still on the ship. The ship docked and left days ago. It's in port somewhere.

I just got this text from my dealer:

"Hi, the computer shows that your vehicle's port checks have been completed and it has left port and is in transit to Toronto."

Now I'm getting really anxious to have it! Might have it by this time next week.

Yeah, I sent the dealer an email on Tuesday seeking clarification, but have yet to receive a response.

 

That's so aggravating. I would recommend that you call them again. The last couple of days is the hardest part of the wait and it's totally uncool that they're letting you sit on pins and needles.

 

Definitely pins and needles EG! I was just in Central PA for meetings and saw some Audi's on a car carrier and thought...those were probably on the same vessel! With the weather due tomorrow, and some travel scheduled, I'm probably looking at late next week for delivery regardless.

You're right though, pretty inexcusable in my opinion. Don't want to throw stones at the SA or dealer, who have treated me well in the past, but I'll be certain to say something at delivery.

 

Just talked to my dealer. My car should arrive tomorrow at the dealership. Then it needs 2 days to PDI and clean it up and I should be picking it up Friday. Very excited.

nj991s he said the Macan launch had slowed things down a bit. The trucks they used for their cars were all full of Macans. But yours should be here soon too.

 

That's awesome news hawc! I'm being told it "probably" will be at the dealer Thursday or Friday. I've asked them not to touch the car other than the mechanical side, so I am hoping delivery will be this weekend too!

 

Very cool. I feel like our cars are soul mates seperated at birth. (Only yours being a fully loaded S and mine being a no options base.)

My delivery is also on Friday but I may not be able to pick it up until Saturday because of work commitments. Post a pic of yours as soon as the dealer receives it.

 

Wow.... 2 more births coming this weekend... Enjoy the last few days of anticipation and get those cameras at the ready... We're looking forward to the pics! Last month i had to defer collection of my car for a couple of days due to work commitments (even though my office is 10 metres from the OPC) but just seeing it all wrapped up in its protective coat when it arrived at the dealer took the edge off... Exciting times!

 

Exciting times indeed! I'm heading over to the dealer at lunch to inspect her and sign the paperwork. Hopefully the rain stops, or they have it in the bay in prep, so that I can get a few iPhone shots. Like many, I've asked that they not touch the paint, so she'll be wrapped in the shots. It's supposed to be overcast on Saturday, which will be perfect for the initial decon and detail. I'll try my best to do a photo journal, if there's any interest. I know there's already a few great ones on the 991, so I don't want to bog down the forum with redundant threads.

I'm sure I'll have some questions about posting a pic. Stay tuned!

 

Sounds good. Are you goint to Opt-Coat yours? I think I'm going to drive mine right over to my detailer and have him take all the wrap off and give it a Opti-Coat Pro treatment.
