Carrera S great deal
Someone looking for a Manual S 991 needs to buy this. Looks like a smoking deal to me.

It's a shame my new house won't be built until August, otherwise I would snap up a 2012 C2S with 2 tone full leather, DCT, Bose, Sport Chrono, PSE, Premium Plus Package, and a few other things which is listed at 89 and which I think I could get for same price as this Carmax car. Plus the car I am referring to has only 7800 miles.
Could you elaborate why you feel this is such a great deal.
No PSE, partial leather and basic seats. The price is exactly where it should be.
Where you do think it should be priced, given that Carmax has no haggle pricing?

Carmax gives far better prices than Porsche dealers do for trade-ins and outright purchases.
Odd that the car is quoted at 170 HP and 177 lbft of Torque....
And it says it has had 2 owners already?

That is simply not true. They only have better asking prices. I am pretty good at used car prices, and Carmax is a rip off when it comes to pricing. I could source a car like the one posted above for mid to high 70s easily.
Neither I did not say that you can BUY a Porsche for a better price from Carmax than from a dealer, nor did I state that this is some type of great deal as suggested by the OP.
But if you're in a bind and in need for a quick sale, Carmax is an option.

Very nice! What was the MSRP for your car?
All of that may be true; however, my concern would be buying a such a slightly used 911 from other than a Porsche dealer. CARMAX is nationwide and certainly reputable, so I'm not trying to disparage them. It's just that it would be concerning because this is such a sophisticatedly engineered car.

I don't think it is that great of a deal to be honest. I posted this on another thread but I could have had a 2012 911 S for 85k (which included shipping to CA from the east coast) with under 7k miles (no CPO) but with a 126k MSRP and this was back in September of last year. There are a lot of good deals to be had for one that is patient and willing to put in the time. I do love the sport techno wheels though!
My experience with Carmax has been that they occasionally have a few well priced used cars for sale. I saw a very nice 997TT go thru Carmax a few months back.
Trade-ins are another story. They will not budge on their offers and their offers are usually well under auction prices. Case in point - I took my 2012 Acura MDX (Tech package, 7K miles) to them for an estimate just a couple of months ago. Car was in immaculate shape, not a ding or scratch. They offered me $33K and the report said 'average' wear on seats, tires, etc. When questioned the appraiser said he didn't have anything comparable on Manheim - mainly because of the low miles. I still asked why the ''avg" and he couldn't really answer. It seemed to me that this was the perfect vehicle for them to resell. The could detail it and spend $100 and put it on the lot for $41K considering it still had 2.5 years of warranty remaining.
They didn't budge on their estimate and I would have taken $35-36K. I advertised it the next week on CL and sold it for $38.5K n 2 days.
