Okay, although there are many similar posts there was some interest expressed in me sharing my initial experience and detailed paint correction. I've had a lot of great advice from folks in this community, and I really appreciate that!
First impression (Aesthetics) - It was difficult to pick from so many great (yet expensive) color combinations and options. I was a bit hesitant to pay the additional money for the GT Silver at first, but have zero regrets now. The ducktail was also something I debated, and I'm glad I chose to add it. I absolutely love the dark accents (lights, roof, and wheels- a bit surprised the stems and weights were in contrasting colors) on the car, as they provide the aggressive styling I was looking for. I was initially concerned that I may have gone overboard with the Guards Red contrast pieces (stitching, belts, and gauges) but I would do it exactly the same way, if I had to start over; I also opted for a bunch of carbon fibre (door sills, shifter, trim, and steering wheel) and I'd do those again, too.
(Design) - The car is a thing of beauty, and built extremely well (no surprise there). The advance in ****pit technologies, as compared to my '01 Boxster, are amazing and in my opinion, not overdone keeping the focus on the driving experience. At 6'1", 235 I was concerned about how I'd fit in the car, but there's plenty of room, and the 18-way adjustable seat make for a very comfortable ride. I do, however, have some trouble in exiting the car, especially in my garage.
(Performance) - Although still in the break-in stage, I can tell this car is a beast. I've stayed within the Porsche guidelines, but have had some fun merging onto the Garden State Parkway. I still don't know if the PSE will be sufficient or not, and I think time will tell. I'm not too far from both AWE and Fabspeed, and may see if I can hear the difference in person, before making a decision. I love how smooth the gearbox is, especially coming from two Audi's that seemed to "crunch" a bit. I loved my Audi's, but they certainly didn't seem to share technology in this regard.
(Issues) - The car was slightly damaged in transport (picture below), and the dealer has ordered a new "chin" to address. Although the picture looks severe, the damage is hardly noticeable, unless you are looking for it. The only other issue thus far has been an odd radio "glitch" where the radio was on, but there was no sound whatsoever. I called the dealership, and they told me to turn the car off, wait an hour or so, and it should correct itself; reminds me of what my IT guys used to tell me. Although it did work, I was a bit surprised that this seemed somewhat "acceptable", especially with an upgraded system. Perhaps there is a software patch out there, or if not, one is in the works (I hope).
(Paint Correction and Wax) - Although I asked the dealer several times not to wash the car, I arrived to find my car shiny and swirly. I was told they "had to" to check for defects. In speaking with many on the board, this is not accurate. Oh well, nothing an extra hour (or three) of labor can't correct. I finally had a day where I had both the time and cooperation of weather to perform the correction. Here's a list of the products I used on the exterior (interior will probably be next weekend, but I've added some photos any way):
Adam's All Purpose Cleaner
Adam's Buttery Wax
Adam's Detail Spray
Adam's Great White Towel
Adam's Professional Car Wash Pad
Adam's Super Block Dressing Applicator
Adam's Super VRT
CarPro PERL
Chemical Guys Citrus Wash Red
Chemical Guys Luber
Chemical Guys OG Clay Bar
Glass Plus (works well for me)
Griot's Applicator Pads
Grit Guard Inserts (I bought buckets from Lowe's, as I really couldn't see the benefit in the more costly Grit Guard buckets, less the coaster system)
GTechniq Panel Wipe
Lemon Scented (yeah right) Iron X
Mother's Tire Brush
MTM Foam Cannon
Nanoskin Autoscrub Medium Grade Mitt
Nanoskin Glide
P21S Total Auto Wash
Sonax Full Effect Wheel Cleaner
Swissvax Wheel Brush
3M Automotive Tape
Wheel Woolie
- Rinse car thoroughly with power washer
- Foam cannon, using CG CWR
- 2BW, using CG CWR
- Rinse thoroughly
- 2BW using P21S (diluted)
- Rinse thoroughly
- Nanoskin entire car using MGWM and Glide
- Rinse thoroughly
- LS Iron X (sit for 3 minutes, then agitate)
- Rinse thoroughly
- Sonax FE on wheels, barrels, and calipers
- Agitate with wheel woolie (lugs, caliper and center cap w/SV brush), then rinse
- Clean wheels with P21S, then rinse
- Adam's APC on tires, scrub with Mother's tire brush, then rinse
- Rinse car
- Foam cannon using CG CWR
- 2BW using CG CWR
- Dried with leaf blower
- CarPro PERL applied to tires
- Adam's Detail Spray applied to wheels
- GTechniq Panel Wipe applied to all painted areas
- CG OG clay bar and Lube used to clean up and remaining defects
- Windows cleaned using GP and micro fiber cloths
- 3M automotive tape applied to all trim, lighting, and badging
- Adam's BW applied and removed, 2 panels at a time
- Tape removed
- Adam's DS applied on areas with wax residue and removed
- Adam's VRT applied to trim
Here's the result:

Congratulations nj!
The car looks gorgeous.
Are you using cr spotless or other deionising water system? Even where water quality is acceptable I find using deionized water to be very helpful in keeping the paintwork in pristine condition.
Enjoy the car..... and looking after it. It's all part of the experience.
Happy motoring.

Hello sir! I didn't this time around, as I am still debating on which route to go. I think I may be getting my FLEX for Father's Day tomorrow, but didn't want to miss the opportunity to get her fixed up. BTW, you were right on the Iron X, the stuff is nasty! Thankfully I had a mask in the garage that I threw on!!
The car looks great! Since you are on the path to many, many hours in the garage detailing, you may want to book a flight to South Florida and skip a bunch of trial and error. I did this course last year and wish I had done it 10 years ago. It would have saved me a bunch of time and money through trial an error.

Appreciate that Money! Funny you mention that, as I was actually giving it some thought. If memory serves, you're a health and fitness guy like me, do they substitute the donuts and pizza for guys like us? Ha! How are you liking the AWE?
