I am in Crisis !

Please help.

I drove the Porsche to work and now its quitting time, and I don't know what to do? It raining outside and the car is wet. If I drive home, its going to get all nasty underneath. Help me find a solution...should I:

* Call the Dealer and ask for advice?

* Call Porsche Roadside Assistance and see if the car can be flat-bedded home?

* Send a text to my wife and have her come pick me up?

* Wait out the rain until its dry?

This has never happened to me before!!

If the car is already wet there is nothing to really do other than sell it.

BTW, I feel your pain as I do not drive my toys in the rain either. I had an Aston that only saw rain twice in 5 years and that was because I got caught in a storm.

What do you think it will be worth after its been rained on?

Will there be a CarFax hit on it?

lol, there must be something I am missing in this thread, some inside joke. I would go to home depot and get a patio umbrella to protect it from the rain. Stand there until the rain stops.

Rather than flatbedding, which is not a bad idea BTW, would be to "ship" it in an enclosed trailer. Your local Porsche dealer should be able to set you right up, as that is how they execute dealer swaps. It will not cost much more than a dealer oil change, assuming you don't work too far from the estate, and will be much less painful than spraying off the undercarriage.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out!

That's a great idea, but a real Catch 22. How does he get to Home Depot?

I don't think CarFax will be notified, but you will never sell it on here now.

You know, the wipers have never been turned on....will it scratch my windshield if I do?

Its 45 minutes past quitting....I'm waiting out the rain for now. Wish I had a Griot's Microfiber Towel to dry it off....

Wait until it stops raining and then turn it upside down and shake the water off

Ummm. I think you should fill a swimming pool with uncooked rice and drive the car into it. The rice will absorb the moisture and the Porsche will be just like new after a couple of days.

Don't worry, you can probably get the undercarriage replaced and covered under your auto insurance. Call your agent and file a claim ASAP!
