Do you bottom the car out easily?

Hey
I just picked up a 991 after owning a 997.

I've found this thing seems to bottom out a bit when I go down an incline, or out of a parking lot where there is a dip.

It even did it briefly in my parking ramp.

Is this more common in the 991?

Will having sport-mode on aid in preventing this? Or make it worse?

Sorry I am not the smartest dude with this thing.

Sport mode doesn't change the ride height so it won't help. Certain driveways will require you to get really sideways to avoid scraping.

If you have SPASM, yes you are likely to scrape the front spoiler lip from time to time. As I mentioned on anther post, they are inexpensive and easy to replace. Don't lose sleep over an occasional rub. Take the driveways and slopes at an angle to the extent possible.

Most sports cars sit low, you have to be careful on certain inclines. For example if you can back out or pull out slowly at an angle. I have never bottomed out with mine so you must be on some serious slopes. In fact these things sit too high and I plan on lowering.

Going up and down driveway at 45 degrees angle and slowly will reduce the scratches.

I hear creaking sound (from suspension / chassis) when I go very slow at an angle up/down (mostly down) the slope...is it normal?

I have SPASM scrape every time I drive in and out of my driveway and at many other locations I frequent. The nice thing is that the black front lip is easily replaced. Just enjoy the car, and when the scrapes look really bad, replace it for a new one and you're good to go.

Mine scraped the first day I brought it home!!!

After about 4 or 5 times I came to the realization it's going to happen.....

After a few garage queens I want to drive my 991 all the time and will deal with it....

If it gets too scuffed it will just get replaced..................

Driving slow when I exit the driveway and trying to take it at an angle is the only way I have been able to avoid scraping the front...

I bottom out twice per week. First week i owned the car, i was very very careful. But as many have said, the front lip was built to be disposable. So once you scratch it once, you might as well scratch it 100 times.

Ha! True! I've lost so much off the front lip, that it doesn't even scrap against anything anymore.
