Was wondering if the AiM system did better with the 991 via the OBDII.
Hi Paradocs, not sure if captures more than your RaceKeeper, but here is some info on what the AIM system picks up via OBDII. It was too big to upload unfortunately. I would like to add steering angle to my overlay for example, which is captured and visible in the Race Studio Analysis software, but not currently on the overlay.

Hi John's 991,
I just got my car and plan on tracking it. I love your camera setup.

I was wondering if you have any paint protectant film and what other's opinions are.

Thanks!

Thank you! The camera setup is an Aim SmartyCam HD with a Solo DL and OBDII connector. It works well and is easy to use.

Yes, I have the front third of the car covered and strongly recommend it, especially if you are going to track the car. Lots of rubber bits and debris hit the front of the car at high speed. It is harder to clean than paint, but I figure after about 3-4 years I will just replace the film and the paint will continue to look new.

Glad to hear that you plan on tracking your car, and looking forward to seeing your videos down the road.

What product did you use on your car? I'm a bit concerned about my paint fading unevenly since my car is black.

Shoot, I can't remember. It was one of the top 3 choices, and supposedly all of them don't block UV, so the paint fades the same for both the covered and uncovered areas.

Search this forum and Rennlist and you will find lots of folks discussing paint protection film.

I'm interested in what you think about driving without PSM. Does the car have an excessive over-steer in turns or is it relatively neutral? I'm driving a 991 S in a DE this weekend and was thinking about doing without. What are advantages?

The advantages of PSM are you have much less risk of totalling your car if you make a mistake. There are no prizes or bravery points in DE... My advice is don't even think about it unless you have a lot of experience on the given track in the given car.
