I usually don't. However, I was with a friend of mine in his 911 and he kept putting gear in "N" with almost every stop at traffic light.

Is it just a personal preference? What do you do? which is "better" for the gearbox?

No...never.....probably a preference for your friend.

If we were talking about a Ferrari 360/430 it would be a different discussion.

Seems unnecessary. PDK goes to lowest gear when you are stopped anyways.

The PDK system is designed to be left in 'Drive' just like an automatic.

Well, it's an automatic after all.

In jest. Tell him he is causing undue wear and tear on the shift lever and related internal components .

'sit. That's all it is.

Whenever all you have on the floorboard is just two pedals - stop & go ....

...it's just an automatic transmission.

No matter what fancy name you call it...
