Does driving a Porsche ever make you feel socially awkward?
it's a mixed bag for me, some days I get positive thumbs up and then the occasional pickup guy who yells profanity at me.
My car is black with ducktail and black sport technos, so it does look a little flashy, but still classy.
Gas up usually involves some commnets and the occasional iphone pic or vid.
I do feel a little "on display" sometimes, you can feel the looks at red lights and such.
It can be weird answering questions from strangers, but I'm usually very friendly as well (at least I think I am

I have heard that the Bugatti gas tank's capacity allows only 8 minutes at top speed so the OEM tire was engineered to last only 10 minutes at that speed before potentially "exploding " from the heat build up , but not more , so that the rubber / construction would be pliable enough to be usable on the street vs a salt flat

I hate the attention my car gets at parking lots and gas stations, I don't mind a "Nice car" comment, but the "How much did it cost you?" and "How fast does it go?" questions got old.
The annoying thing is, if you are not having a good day, You have to suck it up and put on a nice face, otherwise you just come off as an a$$ when someone asks you about it.

Or you could tell them you won it in a raffle!
Ha ha.
I say "I got a deal on a used one for around 80. Well cared for". I say this even though mine was new. I hate to show off saying 100+. I'm in the conservative midwest. Works for me. Humble response that's not bragging
Lmao! Love it
If I feel up to joking I say" you should see bill for the kitchen I had to buy my wife after I bought this damn car!"

A truthful answer yes. For someone that actually had to ask how much it costs, that explanation means nothing to them in most cases.

I feel I should always be incredibly nice to people about it (otherwise I'll be the "snob" I dont want to be). When in most cases I'd prefer not to be bothered. I dont mean to sound misanthropic, I love people. But I just don't want to talk about it sometimes.
