Not quite as the OP described it.

"Turn key on (foot off the brake, all electronics and instrument lights come on), wait at least 1 minute, turn car off, now start car normally."

What problem were you trying to eliminate?

In sports plus/manual mode, when u shift above 5.5k rpms the car will "leap" forward a bit - feels like the transmission is not in complete sync. Less then 5.5k rpms, it's all good. Does not happen in the sports mode, even up to the redline.

Isn't that normal in sport plus, to get more violent shifts?

It's my understanding that the shifts are more precise and happen a little faster with no perceptible delay. Also if it were "normal" why would there be a difference between 5k rpms and 6.5k rpms - I would expect the same "performance" regardless of the shift point. In Sport Mode it's flawless. And what's interesting after the first throttle reset, it seemed to correct the Sport Plus issue. After running an errand and getting back into the car, the old problem seem to resurface.

tried resetting the throttle again today and it seems to help (again). Whether the "fix" sticks is another matter.

SL5k7 is infamous around these parts
Throttle Response

Did the "reset" you performed actually solve your throttle lag problem. I have same issue with 2013 911S PDK.
