Throttle Reset

Just got this tip from my service advisor when I went in today to find out about 3 campaigns I have pending and about updating the PCM which he states he recently got new software (I suspect it is what is on the 2015 MY). I had mentioned sometimes there is lag with the pdk/throttle, he explained the following to reset the system. It appears to have helped, it is so hot here >110 that the engine just seem sluggish in this heat anyway.

Turn key on (foot off the brake, all electronics and instrument lights come on), wait at least 1 minute, turn car off, now start car normally.

In addition to the PCM software update, which he states makes the PCM work better with an iPhone and other bug fixes. The campaigns pending are for:

instrument cluster update (fixes incorrect service reminder)
exhaust valve replacements
replace plastic door pieces

Not getting anything done till August Ill post when its all done. Go

It appears to have also reset the shift points, can anyone confirm this is just not placebo.

How do you know your shift points changed?

I did notice that it downshifts to 6th more often.

It's not completely objective, but normal mode feels sportier than before the reset and appears to upshift at higher rpms on mild throttle.

I saw on Rennlist, someone said a PDK campaign is in the works for the lag issue, anyone else here about this?

+1

and sport mode feels more like it should. As a daily driver with little to no freeway use I wonder if the "adaptive" stuff winds up working against you. Maybe it is all placebo anyways...

Did this before my trip yesterday, nothing new that I saw on the highway..did get 28.6 mpg for the 500+ miles yesterday. In town, it did seem like I lost that little lag point I had at the start, I will experiment a little more today in regular and sport mode.

I had those campaigns done about a week ago. There was no mention about a throttle reset. My car however had a noticeable difference in shift points. The sluggishness I have heard some mention and I had, has gone away. No placebo as no one told me anything would be different. I could just tell something was different...

In Sports Plus and manual mode I've notice a "lunging fwd" feeling when I rev to >=5k rpms. Is this what you guys are talking about? Doesn't happen in Sport/Manual mode, smooth as can be. Almost feels like it's trying to burn rubber under strong throttle.
