I had a look in my service book. It does say first service at 30k km.

Also when I call Porsche they told me I do not have to come in before 30k km. Back in the day it used to be much earlier, but with the improved engines, fuel and oil, there is really no need.

Not sure what fuel you are forced to use in the USA, but in Europe its 98 unleaded. And as far as I know most pumps in the US don't even sell 98. Here it's either 95 or 98, lower is not for sale, but Porsche makes it clear we should only use 98 in the 911.

I plan on taking it in around 25k km now for its first service, as there are a few rattles and things I want them to have a look at as well, and my dealer is a 2h round trip away from my house.

Most pumps in the US sell the highest at 93 octane, with California only allowed to sell no higher than 91 octane. You can get higher octane, but really have to look for it. I was always told that if your car is rated to accept, for example 91 octane and you put in 93, there is no real benefit. So, by that analogy, is the P engine for the European market different?

Quote: Hey guys,

I've had my car for 13 months now, and it's engine has been running perfectly.

When I initially got the car I was told to have my first oil change at 30.000 KM. I am in Europe, and I know they have other service plans here in than in the US, so this question is mainly targeted to European forum users.

Anyway, I've driven 21k KM in 13 months, and I checked my service dash computer today. It told me the next service isn't for another 21400KM. That means well over 42000 KM for the first service/oil change.

I know Porsche is using good oil and all, and that their engines are reliable, but 42k seems a little extreme.

Attached is a screenshot of my board computer.

Has anyone else done their first oil change _after_ 30k KM?
Naw.. it's just a mistake.. I have the similar thing on my US C2S.. It said from day one something like 35,000 miles to next service in 2015.. I just ignore it, although I change my oil at 5000 miles (not 10K).
