mods for top end?
mods for top end?
I have never been the person to ask this question...but things change:
What, if anything, is recommended to give a 991 3.4 more top end - the type that would effect 60-100 acceleration?
I've seen intake pleniums, x pipes and software. I'm looking for feedback on what worked and what didn't.
Also, I have BMC air filters and PSE.
Thanks,
DRP

Headers and/or software may give you some top-end power. You could do a before/after dyno pull to verify gains.
I had a Cargraphic X-pipe installed on my 991S and I show 363HP to the wheels. EAS mentioned something like 427HP if you take a 15% drivetrain loss into account, though I don't remember the exact numbers.

Save your money. No bolt on will change the feel enough, if at all, to risk your warranty, CELs and other unintended consequences (such as, for example, changing the sound of the PSE -- which is almost guaranteed if you change the exhaust path -- to losing low end power due to reduced back pressure).
There's a reason none of the tuners conduct independent third party tests of their bolt-ons...
