First Porsche Build
Guys, at the end of the day these little options of which there are so many to choose from are personal preference.
At this point it gets back to the old clear vs. red tail light debate.
For the GTS the center lock option with those wheels suit it well. Who would want the everyday dime a dozen Carrera S's?
Everyone's a critic. Your car rocks, it's yours, and your checkbook! You'll love it!

"We haven't heard too much about the Porsche 919 Hybrid lately but the company has just released some new details about the car's complex steering wheel. Described as a virtual "computer" in the hands of racing drivers, the steering wheel has 24 buttons and switches on the front and six paddles on the rear. The steering wheel also has a multi-function display that shows everything from the car's speed to the charge status of the lithium-ion battery. Porsche says the most frequently used buttons are positioned along the top outer edge, so they can be easily reached by the driver's thumb. The right blue button controls the headlight flasher - which causes the headlights to flash three times to warn slower vehicles that are about to be passed - while the red button on the opposite side is the boost / overtake button which delivers a temporary increase in performance. While that's definitely a lot of information to process when you're traveling at breakneck speeds, Porsche says the buttons and switches have a fluorescent coating - which is illuminated to a black light - to make them easier to recognize at night."

I actually like the look of the multi function steering wheel, plus the added function. Aesthetically with my interior choice I think the all black will look better then adding in the silver on the sport design wheel. Although I guess that is all subjective.
Good point on the CL. One thing that will be an issue is that for Winter I usually get 18" snow tires and new wheels. How easy or difficult will it be to find center lock wheels? Or will I have to buy 20" snow tires?
I'm not so concerned with the issues of actually changing wheels, which seems to be this biggest concern with CL.

You may want to do some searching and research on those snow tires before committing to the CL wheels. I know nothing about them, but it's worth looking into first, fer sure.
My last thought: don't let these guys talk you into the sport design steering wheel. Yeah, it looks good, but it's cold in the winter, the thumb position isn't quite the same as the basic wheel, and I personally didn't care for it (had it on my 997). Different strokes.
I'm glad to read that you are sticking with the full leather. It's a lot of money, but it looks good.
Exactly, +1, ditto, etc.

I did change my mind though, with news of the 991.2 I decided to do a three year lease instead of a purchase. It appears that numbers work out okay. This will be the first time I actually lease a car.
So with that being said I will stick with the CL.
Today is the day, I place the order. I'm still waffling on colors options though....Although I'm set on the MF steering wheel
Hello,
My name is Jeff and I am getting ready to put down a deposit on my first Porsche. I’m currently driving a BMW Z4 35is, and it only took about 10 seconds of driving the 911 to convince me that I need to upgrade.
I’m a bit overwhelmed at configuring the car. Configuring the BMW was a breeze as it comes fully loaded in Canada, there were no options to choose aside from the color and extended leather.
Please take a look at this and let me know what you guys think. The prices might seem a bit high as a Canadian car is slightly more expensive than a US one. I’m will be buying the car so the plan is to keep it for many years.

I have, both. I can go either way with the seats, they are both comfortable to me. The 18 way is not $2,000 more comfortable so I'm sticking with the regular sport 14 way seats.
On the PDK, yes. It is fast, responsive and whole lot better than I can do, but the manual is just more fun for me. My current car (BMW) has a DCT and it is also very good and fast, but I find it boring. So I'm pretty set on the manual.

So it is done.
Order place. Deposit given.
Delivery to me Jan 10th.
I can make changes to build until October 27th.
I did make some last min changes. This is the build I went with (which I'm sure will be changed many times before now and the 27th).
18 way - Leather Adaptive sport seats
So I downgraded from full leather 14 way to partial leather 18 way. I actually sat in and drove both, and did prefer the 18 way. I did find them more comfortable. As for the full leather vs partial. I found the partial to be perfectly fine.
Premium Plus
Bose
Park assist front and rear
Glass sunroof
Side skirts painted
Sport PASM
7 speed Manual
Turbo wheels
Multi function steering wheel
Carbon Interior package
Voice control
LED Lights (still might change these back to the PDLS)
As for the color, it is currently metallic white. I really wanted to do the GT silver, but the cost kept driving me above my $150K price limit.
They did not have any GT silver cars so it was tough to gauge if I really like the color or not. So for now it is between White, Agate, Saphire Blue. I think with all the blackout pieces on the GTS a lighter color would work better, but I saw an Agate car with black wheels and it looked pretty good.
Anyway, I'm losing sleep at night over this color decision.
