Leather/Carbon Mats from ExotiCARe

I just received my set of custom Italian leather floor mats from Andrew at ExotiCare. They offer a variety of material and color/stitching options. I had an excellent experience dealing with Andrew. He always returned emails promptly. My mats are a diamond black leather print on the front half, with a carbon fiber look weave on leather bottom half, and silver stitching. Many variations are possible. I chose to have some carbon look material on the mats to pick up the carbon fiber I have in the interior. I also had the Porsche crest embroidered in silver on the mats. The mats work with the OEM mat fasteners. The mats arrive in the shipping box in a nice zippered case that works great for storing your OEM mats. Andrew's website and pics of the installed mats below.

They look like a really nice addition. Like carbon fiber match. Nice choice. Now if I could get the wife to take off her heels or any shoes before getting in the car.....ahhh that'll never work.

You mean, some 911 owners let their wives ride in their cars? I thought only girlfriends were allowed!

My wife has zero interest in my weekend toys, so that is not an issue for me. The CF look material is bonded to leather, so it is strong. Now I cannot say about spike heels, but it should be good for normal use.

There is some visible wear. I'll take a picture of mine this weekend. My mats are about 1 year old with 5200 km of driving in them.

Here are my mats after 1 year and about 5000 km of use.

You can see there is some visible wear under where the clutch pedal is. That pad looks like it should be easily replaceable if it gets bad, so I'm not too worried.

That spot could easily be retouched with dye by anyone that works with leather as well. Really not bad for as long as you have owned them. Not having a clutch with my PDK, I will probably see wear under the throttle first with my mats.

I really like mine. Nice change from three decades of carpeted mats.

The wear and tear doesn't look bad after a year. I thought it would be much worse.

What's the ballpark cost on a pair of mats (approximate is fine)?

$395 and up, depending on whether you want any custom work. They can do about anything. The mats are made in Italy, then shipped to Canada, then shipped to wherever.

I will mainly vacuum mine when needed, but probably also just wipe them down with a damp cloth once a month or so. The leather is waterproof as well, per the company website.

Mine were not cheap at $575 out the door. I had the added expense of the CF material and the embroidered Porsche Crest, but the fact is practically everything to do with this car is expensive, so what the heck!?

But at this price point, you can get matching mat edging or stitching to pick up your car's paint or contrasting seat belt colors, or stitching to match your deviated interior stitching, even leather colors to pick up your brake rotor color. The company makes mats for many other marques more expensive than Porsche as well. They look to have a lot of experience.
