C4S991 is infamous around these parts
X-pipe DIY?

SIAP, I searched to no avail...

Is the installation of an X-Pipe something that can be accomplished without removal of the rear bumper? PSE is being installed next week and I want to prepare for more sound!

Thanks in advance!

Yes, its easy. I have a thread here (somewhere) on how to do it - with photos. 45 min job once the car is off the ground.

Hmmm. Agree with drcollie that you can install an X-Pipe without removing rear cover, and his write-up is quite good. But I have to admit I am a bit confused? You ask if an X-Pipe can be installed without removal of rear bumper on a thread titled X-Pipe DIY, but you mention PSE is being installed next week? By you or dealer?

If you plan on doing an aftermarket X-Pipe yourself (or at all), consider saving some $$ and don't bother with the PSE install. Assuming you have a non-PSE "S" car currently, and are adding PSE, the parts will include a new center muffler replacing the non-PSE center. But the side mufflers don't get replaced, so you would be paying for the console switch, programming, longer vacuum lines, unnecessarily long labor time in the dealer shop, and a new center muffler. Then, if you install an X-Pipe, you would be pulling-out the just installed center muffler to put in the X-Pipe.... If the only reason you are installing PSE first is to get the switch, I can understand that. But otherwise just skip the PSE install and install x-Pipe or other exhaust. I may be rambling a bit, but my point is if you pull the center PSE muffler out and replace with an X-Pipe you won't be able to use the PSE on-off switch anyways, and you've basically spent a bunch of money for parts that you won't need or use.

Am I missing something here C4S991 / drcollie?

But if you go ahead and tear-out the just-installed PSE center, please PM me!
