Will finalize details of my C4GTS next week. This is my third Porsche (06 Boxster S and 08 Turbo Cab) but it's my first new order.
Car is pretty well loaded up.
I'm thinking I want to delete the C4 GTS badge on back and decals on sides.
Any thoughts on this? I was thinking it would make the non Porsche people wonder what it is.
Oh and Lava Orange BTW!
Too much advertising crap on the rear, I agree. Almost like a cheesy billboard. I'd keep it plain - just PORSCHE or PORSCHE 911 on the back. I think it would look a little weird with nothing on the back - just too much real estate to have nothing there. On the doors, I'd delete GTS too.
That panel on the back where Porsche puts their free, to them, advertising, is 28" x 8". Hardly a lot of 'real estate', in fact one of the smallest panels on the body. The jimcrack back there provides nooks and crannies for dirt and dust to accumulate, is harder to clean around, snags microfiber cloth, and tells people you don't know, don't want to know, and don't want around your car, what it is. Why?

I agree with your assessment about this location capturing dirt. It has been the number one location on the entire car where I would use a clay bar to remove dirt. Having letters in this location increases the number of nooks and crannies to clean.
Unfortunately for the 991 models, Porsche chose to add more letters there. Besides adding PORSCHE, they made the model designation letters from a smaller font than with previous models, and the designation is more descriptive. I removed PORSCHE from my "billboard" and left the model designation. The photo below shows my car before PORSCHE was removed. The post-layout is balanced but I wish I had the larger font Turbo S (only) badge from previous model years.
I removed PORSCHE and it is a cleaner look that is easier to clean.

I saw a pic of Steve McQueen's 930 Turbo and it had "Carrera Turbo" in black on the back. I have been thinking of removing my rear banging and going with that, or maybe just the "Turbo" in black with a red "S".
Would anyone here consider it heresy to use a different 911 generation badge on a 991 Turbo? Heck, I have refinished 356 crests on my center lock wheel caps already!
