991S tune question

guys, just bought a new 2015 S, love it. have the PDK with sport chorine package, love that as well. also has sport exhaust, etc

has anyone done a tune on this car, i know you don't get the power increases with the NA cars like turbo cars and all but is it worth the money to have this car tuned, also, to those who have does the tune change the shift patterns etc as well

thanks

Do you care anything about your warranty? If you don't mind risking your warranty, I would not expect much if nay performance increase form a tune.

I think you are being too hard on the OP. Tuning is an art and after a few tries there was a complete transformation of my C2. It was so fast it, the car's appearance actually changed.

I guess it depends on how much you want your Porsche Factory Warranty. That's the warranty I was referring to.

Any modification at all can jeopardize a factory warranty if something goes really really wrong. The only possible way to avoid this is to stay completely stock, and never track the car. That said, we've yet to even hear of a reported issue with a modified 991/991S car. The platform has proven to be reliable.

Anyone curious about our software can find information on it: here. All of our software has a 30 day money back guarantee associated with it. This way people can try it for themselves to verify that it A) does what we say it does B) fits their expectations before they're committed to owning it.

991S tune question

Wow! Power tune and legal advice! Talk about customer service.

Warranty rights provided with a Porsche are significant. You want to risk losing them to this tuner?

Lots of anxiety over tuning here. My Porsche dealer is actually flashing the Giac tune as an AWE tuning location. The issue has to be directly related to the tune for Porsche not to honor your warranty is the way I understand it.
That said the tune for NA cars is not nearly as significant as for Turbo models but you can get enhanced throttle response and some top end grunt. I am considering this tune in the Fall. I have owned 2 previous TT's that were tuned with by a well known tuner and never experienced an issue. It is your car, your call.

PNA will tell you don't change your wheels, exhaust or springs or you will be voided if you ask.

The problem is that it is PCNA that provides the warranty on your car, not your dealer, as you stated. Just because your dealer installs it doesn't mean that PCNA approves. You don't have to ask PCNA for them to deny a warranty claim. All they have to know is that you did it. Wait until you have something as simple as a check engine light and have Porsche tell you they won't even diagnose the problem under warranty because of the flash.

That said, I am all for everyone doing what they want to their car. Some are less concerned about consequences then others. For me, I don't like the risk of a denied warranty claim resulting from a mod that added very little, if any, performance gain to my car.

Champion Motorsport warranty (owned by a Porsche dealer) I'm not saying PCNA is going to be happy but it's better than nothing

If you want to trade your Porsche factory warranty for that one, go right ahead.

Do you really believe that it is not possible to squeeze 10-15 hp out of these cars with a little quality software help. 10-15 real hp or tq gain is noticeable.
I know you don't really believe that Porsche has maxed out the HP from this platform when they have a reputation of keeping platforms for years and increasing power each year with minimal internal upgrades.

You really don't think a quality tuner like Giac can't figure that out without blowing up the car.

It's not so much a question of whether the tune will "blow up your car." The question is do you want to void your factory warranty for 10-15 questionable HP?
