Can't believe our BT Aux connection still screws up...
Is anyone else fed up with this? Tried Galaxy/Nexus phones, iPhones, etc. for a bluetooth aux connection, and it works maybe 50% of the time. We've had threads on this before, but I still can't believe that a fix hasn't been issued or figured out.
It sucks to get into the car for a long drive, only to notice that the connection isn't even there. Sure, I can connect via an actual aux input or usb, but that's not the point; a feature that most modern cars flawlessly implement is missing here.

I apologize if you already know this, but one workaround is to enable the Bluetooth on your phone after the car is started (and your PCM is fully up and running...takes a few seconds) then wait to get the "BT connected" prompt on your PCM (this occurs in the lower left and takes about 5-15 seconds after you enable the BT on your phone).
I have a '14 991 4S and an iPhone 6 and this is the ONLY way I can get my phone connected. 100% success rate.

I have similar problems in my 2013 with my Galaxy Note 3 then 4. I have found a way to go into settings/bluetooth and clear the cache. then once I disconnect bluetooth on the pcm and reconnect to the phone, it works. It is a pain in the **** to do all of this when driving, but sometimes it just won't work and this is the only way around it. I have also noticed that if I force the shutdown of slacker radio on my phone, it happens more often than if I go back into the program and turn it off.
Regardless, I'm able to make it work 100% of the time once I go through this process.
Hope this helps.

Had the same problem on my 2013 w/ iphone 5s but only after about 6 months of ownership. Would love to find out why it changed. Also did the bluetooth setting thing to make it turn on.
So far my 2016 works perfectly with iphone 6. .... knock on carbon fiber!

This morning, though? Magically connected.
I brought this on myself by saying I've never had an issue! Today my phone was not connected to the PCM so I turned Bluetooth off and then back on and the phone connected. It was annoying but man, if that's the worst thing to happen this week to me, I'll be pretty happy.

I have this problem too. The phone connects for the telephone functions, but the BT Aux option doesn't show up in the sources list on occasion.
It's been a problem with my car with Samsung Galaxy S3, S5 & S6edge.
I've found that the problem is MUCH more likely to occur if I am using the phone (even just the screen on / checking emails) when I turn on the car. If I leave the phone in my pocket/bag, undisturbed for the first minute of the drive then it connects much more consistently.

I'm going with: the phone is the problem.
I had a 5s iPhone and had spotty bluetooth connectivity. Went to 6 and, no problems at all in fact, it shares the bluetooth with my Escort Live connection too.

Wish that were the case, but it isn't. A good portion of people who write about the same problems have the iPhone 6 (myself included).
I don't have a problem with it at all. I am using an iPhone 6 plus. If aux doesn't show up after my phone connects I just got to my phone BT settings to make sure I'm connected. Rarely have to do that.
