Can you quickly educate me please?
Hey guys,
I am about to start looking for a used 991 and have a few basic / 101 type questions I hope folks can quickly orient me on.
Ex-996 C4S owner. It was my first 911, I liked that car, but it was real archaic and suffered from the 996's bad rep. I lost a bunch of money on it when I went back to AMG (my 3rd over the years) and didn't miss it at all. I told myself I'd come back to 911s when I could afford a real modern one.
Which brings me to the 991. Here's what I am thinking - am I on the right track? FYI, my sweet spot is a 2-3 year old car, I typically keep them for 2 years and move on.

- Did the 2013 cars all come with bluetooth stereo? The 996 and its 1980s electronics really turned me off and I swore I would never buy another car that didn't have a BT head unit. I am not an audiophile and don't need a fancy stereo, but I am NOT holding a phone to my ear in the year 2016.
- Electronic adjustable dampers come standard with sport chrono? Recommended?
- Anything else a must that I should look for, options-wise?
- What is a reasonable amount to pay for a 2013/2014 Carrera S? and what is a good deal? I will be trading in my C63, so no private party drama for me.
- Not that it matters a great deal, but are the 991s holding their value pretty well? I turn them around in under 2 years / 20k miles.

I adore AMGs, there is very little I don't like about any of the ones I have had. I like to keep switching cars and experience them all, that's all.

The 4 and 4S are a hoot if you want to corner like God's Own Go-Kart. If you want the "real 911" flavor then pick up a 1970 S model.

I don't agree necessarily. It sounds louder with PSE, but that doesn't meet stock doesn't sound bad (I have a full Tubi exhaust on mine, so I like louder)

I can barely tell the difference in my car.

There are really no 'must-haves' just whatever it is that you want and are willing to pay for.

Too many variables because of options available, condition, mileage, and CPO or not. The spread is too wide until you narrow it down.

Current depreciation is about $ 1K a month from new. That will slow as the cars get older.

I bought my 2013 well-optioned C4S for $130K. After 3 years and 30K (s)miles my dealer offered $70K for my car. That's about $1,666 per month in depreciation. Maybe my car suffered more than $1,000 per month in depreciation because of the high mileage?

Only thing I would add is that the depreciation should be taken from base price as most of the options do not hold value (except for power kit or PCCB etc).
