Will a 996 Turbo beat a 991 CS2?

Hello
I was just wondering if this car will beat a 991.

I have the 991 and my bro bought a turbo.

I am wondering if it would accelerate faster.

I assume so.

It would be very close. Small power-to-weight advantage for the 996 Turbo but if the 991 C2S is PDK, it will make that time back. From a dig, the AWD Turbo is going to maul the rear-drive 991 off the line. Best race for you would be a slow roll to eliminate that advantage.

I owned 2 996 TT's and now a 991 4S. As much as I love my 4S I believe the 996TT will eat the 991 S up. Not the hp it's the torque and twin turbos kicking in. Just my opinion.

996 turbo will win. Turbo HP are always bigger than NA HP

It's the 415 lb of torque vs the 325 lb torque which is the biggest issue along with the AWD off the line. Even though the 991S is a screamer I don't think it can take the 996TT.

On the ring the 991S is quite a bit faster. 7:38 vs 7:56.

it depends on your definition of "beat"

if you meant drag race, turbo will be faster...

but for track, as you can see from previous post 7:38 vs 7:56 on the ring....

i will take handling over raw straight line speed, and 996TT would need
a pretty good driver to keep it close behind 9

I'd love to see a video of a drag. With a PDK the S would be hard to beat imo (I've owned both as well). One website, zeroto60times.com, shows the 996TT at 3.8 and 3.9 (two tests), and the 2012 911S at 3.7. 1/4 times are also 0.1 secs off with the 996 being slower. I think it will come down to the driver/shifting in the TT.

None of the posts above mentions that most 996TTs have some modification or another.
I have a stage 2 996TT (roughly + 100 HP and torque) and did a couple of pulls against a friend's 991S. It wasn't even close.
I know this is not 'apples to apples', but adding HP is cheap on a turbo with Mezger engine, and most owners have done it by now. Be careful when you line up against an 'old' 996 platform
On the flipside, the 996TT has a horrible 1st gear, so PDK will really help in the initial stages of a pull from standstill.
