my point is that over paying 100,000 for a car that just sold previously at sticker is what is causing this 911 car craze,,,.. as previously said. Congrats to the seller for maximizing his profit. I enjoy this 911 value hike... However , I feel it will die out. But nonetheless, the hike did bring value up quite a bit

LOL. Hyperbole at its best. Anyone who will pay $250,000 over sticker either has way too much extra money or has taken leave of his senses. Regardless, one-off sales do not a car market make. Porsches ain't Beanie Babies.

The individual who told me that he was offered the 250 over is the son the the owner of the dealership .. I suppose he is not over exaggerating but time will tell ... Here in south Florida it gets crazy .. A lot of money to throw around

I hope you enjoy driving your well priced deal, in three or more years. But i wonder if the joy of the 911 will stay with you ?

Some see the deals and some get the the deals and fewer enjoy the ride, over and over and over

Funny you mention this thread.

Did anyone know that Ferrari 550 Barchettas and 575M Superamericas were going for $500-900k? Who expected that a couple years ago? And

Ditto Scuderia 16M spiders.

Ditto Carrera GTs.

Ditto any 964 911.

Ditto 993 911s and 993 Turbos in particular.

I guess it should've been expected since a limited run of each car was built, but it just seemed implausible to appreciate SO quickly. Where the hell are all these people popping up with $800k to spend on 10 year old Ferraris that aren't particularly special aside from their open roofs?

It seems auto prices are in a pretty large bubble. No wonder Seinfeld sold out!

You response is the one that is the most intelligent ... This is not the time to fall into this craze ... And yes , that is why Seinfeld sold his cars ... Smart move

This whole thread has me confused. I feel like I'm missing a few pages. I don't know what the OP is referring to, and why or how this fell into a minimum wage discussion. People who make minimum wage don't typically buy 911s.

Are Porsches overpriced? Yes. Did we need a thread to enlighten us to that fact? Probably not.

I originated the thread. As far as the minimum wage , I don't know how that came about .... And as far as why i started it is because it was on my mind ... I was just making a point to see how you guys felt about it ... That's why it's a forum !! So anyone can make a point of discussion regardless if you feel that it's overstated ... We don't live in Cuba ....

new cars will always have that crowd wanting the latest and greatest limited productions that hold value....thus premiums....old collector cars have sky rocketed and are WAY WAY past the time to have purchased...that is a bubble waiting to blow...I got out of my 1994 3.6 T for good $$$ .....have a 1970 Boss 429 thats nearing completion that I hope I can throw through auction before the bubble does burst....
