x-pipes and vibration at idle, do they all do it?

I recently had a Sharkwerks crossover pipe (not X-Pipe) installed on my 2014 991 3.4 PDK. I get a vibration at idle that goes away when car warms up and is in Sport mode (which increases idle speed a bit). When not in Sport mode, it vibrates at idle.

I'm wondering, is it worth trying another brand's X-Pipe, such as AWE or Fabspeed, or if I get the vibration with the Sharkwerks, are they all likely to do the same thing on my car?

Thanks,
Mike

P.S. Car sounds awesome with the Sharkwerks bypass. Just wish the vibration wasn't there.

Thx. Assume you have a 991, and if so, is it PDK or manual?

I had Sharkwerks with a manual transmission and it vibrated at idle.

I installed the Sharkwerks pipes on my C4S and did notice some vibration. I think this is due to removing the side mufflers and a change in the harmonics of the car. Not worried at all and the car sounds incredible.

We are currently offering two center muffler bypass systems for the 991 a valved and a non-valved. Our valved x-pipe can be directly installed into cars that are equipped with PSE. If they are not you can still take advantage of the valves using our valvetronic exhaust. Let me know if this is something you'd be interested in, I'd love to assist!

Please feel free to reach out with any questions you might have!

I'd like to know the likelihood of me having similar vibration issues at idle with the Fabspeed unit in my 3.4 PDK 991. Thanks.

You'd be hard pressed to get out system to rattle, there really isn't much for it to rattle on. The tolerances we hold, allow it to be a perfect fit!

I look forward to working with you!

Hey, so I have the same set up and same exhaust from sharkwerks. I have vibration issues at 600-800rpm, so pretty much rolling off the street light or out of the driveway. It bothers me bc I will daily the car and sitting in traffic becomes more irritating. I spoke with sharkwerks, they are going to increase my idle by 50 and see if that helps. It really only vibrates when parked/rolling off in 1st gear for 2seconds but I agree, def annoying.

This just my opinion. I think what is happening is the side mufflers absorb some exhaust pulsations. With the removal of the side mufflers, there is nothing else to absorb these pulsations, so it gets transfered through out the car. But, I'm not a rocket scientist.

Search for another pst here or on RL - it has to do with the ECU not adjusting idle with the lower exhaust restriction. The fact that it goes away when warm should be an indication that it's not a fittment issue. I've heard the only way to fix it (other than sport mode) is with an ECU tune.
