Tell me about PCBB yellow brakes. I know a little, they're lighter and make for track. I read they've failed on the track and Porsche does not warranty them when tracked. They're 5K/rotor. a $20,000 brake job, but I don't know what's real or not.
I don't want them, it's a 10K box click in the configurator, and I've never been on a track. I may want to track a car, but I don't have the time, and never had the proper car.
The wife wants them for aesthetic reasons, I'm telling her no. I still want to be knowledgeable.

Pcbb
PCBB,they have a seating procedure or they don't function optimally.
For street....not as much of a "PITA"....I think if its not done right perhaps you`ll have"Green Brakes"....which translates to....not total braking ability.....
Having said that,I have a 2017 turbo S....used as a partial"DD"...& havnt
seated the"PCBB`s properly....& havnt experience any brake issues.
Got the car in 4-15-16.....now has 745 miles.....
Ciao...............Safe driving..........

PCCB = yellow calipers and no brake dust which will keep your wheels looking good.
NON = red calipers and quite a bit of brake dust.
If you are not tracking your car you won't know the difference. If you are tracking your car then join in on the debate, half will say get PCCB and the other half will say not to.

The PCCB is more noisy as well.

ceramics are amazing. no brake dust, incredible stopping power, no fade. I completely disagree with people who say if you don't track your car, you won't notice a difference. it's a night and day difference even in regular driving.
and if you don't track the car, they should last you a lifetime. it's a no brainer - get them.
however, if you do plan to track the car even occasionally and don't have a Formula 1 budget, definitely go with steel.

Once you've owned a car with PCCBs, it's hard to consider one without them.
For street use, both steel and PCCBs will have no brake fad and stopping distances will be the same except when PCCBs are cold and will take further to stop. The main reasons to pay up is no brake dust and save some rotational weight.

Squealy? Scraping sound?
The normal one can squeal at times, I even had a bit of a squeal on my test drive.

I used to hit the drive through car wash weekly; not because my car was dirty either. Just the rims dictated whether or not I'd go to the drive though.
Unfortunately I'm looking at a cab. Car washes are not advised.
My previous 991.1S had steel brakes and they were very noisy, constant squeaking.
