Ordered HRE wheels (Need advice)

I ordered HRE P101 in brushed dark clear and Ohlin coil overs from David at Wheels Boutique for a agate grey 2017 991.2. Big shout out to David by the way! My question is and I think there is still time to change my order, I went with the 20” since I could use factory tires but I’m wondering if I should switch to 21” rear with new tires and wondered if anyone else has done this? Is it a good idea? I know the GT3’s come this way but I don’t want the tires to look funny with different series tire in the back. (Guessing it would go from 305/30/20 to 325/25/21) Also if I make the change to a 325 vs 305? Will I gain anything ? Any advice you all have would be appreciated thanks in advance!

A couple of thoughts. There are plenty of guys using 21 inch wheels. Once you go 21 and to a 325 your tire options become more limited. Also the GT3 is rwd I wouldn’t do staggered 21’s in the back and 20’s up front if that is why you are suggesting. The turbo is awd.

I stayed with 20’s and factory tire sizes although I may go with a 315 next time around for the rears. The wheels I chose are a half inch wider at 11.5 and 9.5 respectively but plenty of guys go with a 12 inch rear wheel.

Also do you plan on lowering the car?

I am lowering the car on Ohlin coilovers I believe thyou model is MP70 but I intended on having it at its tallest setting which I believe is 1” shorter then the factory springs. My car is a 911 Carrera and RWD not a 4s.

Missed that floating between 991 and 991 turbo forum. I’d personally still stick with the 20’s especially if you are dropping an inch.

Nice looking Agate carrera.

Thank you sir, the current wheel order is 11.5 x 20 rear and 9x20 front.

I just added these GT3 mirrors with carbon fiber housings. That was a fun task. It currently has a full Fabspeed exhaust, headers 200 cell cats X-pipe and tips.
in the future when COBB comes out with their tune I will add that !

I thought they were called GT3 mirrors or maybe sport design mirrors, I don’t know what the difference is. I bought them from Suncoast Porsche and had the housing painted gloss black as I thought that would look good with the CF housing.

Stayed with the 20” and decided to add Michelin pilot sport 4s. Kinda pains me when these P zero’s have 250 miles on them but I’ll just put them and the factory wheels in storage. Hopefully it was worth it for the upgraded tires!

I don't have HRE but I went 20 x 8.5, 20 x 11.5.

I don't think you need to go 21's. In my opinion 20's look perfect. And I definitely wouldn't go a different diameter in the rear.

^Your C4S looks amazing!!!

As for OP, I'd stick with 20s if it was me. I've ordered 2 sets of wheels from David and Wheels Boutique, amazing to work with. The P101s are my dream wheels but my past 2 sets have been entry-level HREs, i.e. FlowForms. I'm in a 991.1 C2S with TechArt lowering springs and find the 20s look perfect. I wouldn't want them any bigger honestly.

I have satin black P101 on my Guards Red 991.2 and love them. I stayed with 20 as I didn't want to risk damage....and harsher ride. I NEED a set of those CF sport design mirrors! Maybe a nice Christmas present to my self.

they are a project to put on but once you have done 1 the other will go pretty easy! probably took about 2.5 hrs. The way they ship from Suncoast.com you will need to get the lower housings painted and you will fully assemble them. I think it cost me about 200 to get the Porsche gloss black lower housings painted.

I'm going to get the dealer to do it.
