Look at 991 Targa at Beverly Hills Porsche?

Anyone in that area willing to take a quick look at a Targa for me? They are telling me the car is perfect but pictures they sent seem to show it otherwise. But for the money I am still considering it so it would be nice to have a different set of eyes on it. I'd like to myself but I live in FL. Thanks in advance...Bob Z.

BH Porsche is very local to me...maybe 3 miles...but I’m out of town until the 30th. Any chance of you getting the VIN and running a CarFax?

Thanks for the reply. If they still have the car when you get back and you have a few minutes to look it over that would be great. The salesman, Brandon, said he would welcome anyone that I wanted to take a look at it. It is a 2015 Targa 4S and they have the Carfax in their listing for it. Brandon said it had minor lot damage (cosmetic) but the Carfax shows it as an accident. Let me know when you get back and if you have time to stop by, and if so I'd like some pics of any stone chips, scratches, etc. in & out and just a general all idea of it looks. Thanks much...Bob Z. Mine also listed a accident on the Carfax but it came with a report on the damage with a full inspection and a dozen or so photographs. It was called a TrueFrame Report, I guess they get an outside company to come and do an inspection and then write a full report on what was found and was linked to the Carfax.

That would have been a good idea but he told me it was a long time ago (11/24/14) and they do not have any additional reports...not sure how he knew what he told me. He also told me that since the car was CPO'd by them it could not have had any damage since if it did they could not CPO it.

The Carfax is odd because it does not list the car in dealer inventory just the first thing is an accident. Check to see when the in-service date is for the warranty and that will give you some idea if the accident happened in transport, while in inventory or on a test drive. An accident is usually not the first thing reported to Carfax. They did the report on my car when it was traded in and they noticed it on the Carfax and mine was CPO's. I think it is 30% of the car can have paint work. Would ask them to do use a paint gage on the car to see if how much was painted and give you the readings, if they don't walk away. I had it done with a 2003 C4S I bought by photos only.

He told me the initial sale date was 11/10/14, which is before the accident. He has been spending a lot of time with me on email and sending me tons of pictures but I am still confused about some things.

Wow did not notice a clutch and all four rotors were replace, car appears to be driven hard as those items usually last much longer than 30k miles.

He also said that $3k in brake work was done as a result of the pre-CPO inspection.

That had to suck for the car owner as he got rear-ended a couple of weeks after he bought the car.

If you do buy it you should not have problems for the rest of the CPO but that is allot of work on the car for 2.5 years of use. Did he mention if the tires were replaced and when.

He said the rear tires are new and the fronts have over 70% remaining. Yeah, quite a bit of work indeed and he came down a little and would ship to me in FL for free. But I would still like an independent set of eyes on it before I decide.

I got my 15 CPO for around 92k but there was a trade and they replace the steering wheel with the sport wheel. Plus I have about a 1 more year on my CPO. Probably will sell it for a TT in about a year though.

I drove a Red Targa today here in FL and we really liked it, enough that my wife said that maybe we should order one to get what we want. But if I can find one that meets my needs for less I will, so if someone can stop by and see it please send me a PM, but I can wait until you get back after the 30th Leslierc.
