991Targa

Need help and advice…came across a 991.1 Sapphire blue/grey Targa 4 MT base car minimal options other than 14 way seats and premium package.
Car is CPOd with 39k miles. Car truly is clean.
dealer is asking 109 and will not budge as yet.
Am I making a mistake by getting a 4 base car? The 4S are all in the 140s if you can find an MT.
Options are nice, but the main option I was looking for was that third pedal.

Appreciate any thoughts

I’ve owned my 2015 Targa 4s for just over 2 years now. To me it depends on your driving habits if you should go base or S. I like spirited driving so for me it had to be an S. From what I’ve heard though is that the base engine is paired well with the manual. Something to consider is that the Targa is the heaviest variant so an S may be a better choice. That’s just my opinion though! If it’s just going to be a cruiser than I think you’ll be happy with it.

Price seems a little high for standard trim, but it is a manual which does carry a premium. Targa’s do hold there value a little better and are less common than other body styles which appealed to me. To be honest, I had my heart set on a coupe but fell for my car do to the color combo, options, and condition. It was supposed to hold me over till my Z06 was ready to be ordered and decided I’m definitely a Porsche person at heart. This is my second.

In closing, if you love the car go for it. If they are not willing to budge on price try to get a couple oil changes or services out of them. My dealer charged $800 for an oil change. Otherwise make an appropriate offer and tell them to call when they are ready to sell. Hope this helps!

Sounds like a great find, Peter Sapphire Blue with a manual is already a win. The base 4 still gives you the flat-six charm, AWD stability, and that open-air Targa feel. You’ll miss a bit of the punch from the 4S (and the brakes/suspension tuning), but for street driving it’s still a blast, especially with the 7MT.At $109k CPO and 39k miles, it’s not cheap, but manuals are getting scarce. If the car’s truly clean and you plan to keep it a while, you’re not making a mistake. The 4S premium is nice if you track or crave the extra torque, but otherwise, I’d say buy the one that gives you the biggest grin every time you row through the gears.
