Still lookin'!!!!
Hi guys. Still out here looking. Have my eye on a 07 Targa 4 Blk/Stone grey with 15500 miles &CPO. List of extras are:
Heated seats
Flr mats
Bose
Pwr Seats
Wheel caps/ colored crest
self dimming mirrors
Nav
bi zenon headlamps
chrono package
$64,933
Don't really need an "S", just want a nice car to ride around in (DD).
Looking for advice on price. What do you guys think?

Don't know the premium for a 4 or Targa, but the price seems more like the price for a 4S. A non-S should definitely be in the 50's. Check comps in your area on Autotrader. Not to mention there are not a lot of people shopping 911's in the winter in Chicago...
It's very hard to price a Targa 4 . Due to its rare production in contrast to the other models it's in high demand with a select few . Most pass it up and the one who actually wants it is ready to pay more but YOU have the advantage . That dealership probably sat on that car for months and if you don't buy it it will remain there for longer than the more popular models. This will also pose a snag for you in resale .
and yes ... pring is very high.
Why not simply get an 09 non S coupe in the upper 70's new leftover than haggle with a used Targa 4 that's 2 model years older and priced within pricing strike distance ?

Want an AWD p-car. This is Chicago :-). I am one of those people who like the targa, just not trying to spent too much for one. Come Larry; I trust you. Put a price on it :-)
So let's see .. they ask mid 60's and it's not worth a penny over 54K .Especially in thar region.
My guess is they will let you walk without a second thought . If they sell the car out of state then you can't even generate business for them via servicing it there. They will probably want high 50's plus freight ...
There are other Targas too priced lower with an 'S" .
BTW --you must test drive any Targa to be sure of any roof rattles or leaks on top of all the other routine inspections.
I counted 34 Targas on Auto trader 07 for sale at any distance . It is not a popular car .
If you absolutely LOVE it -- 57K and that overpaying in my opinion.

I just sold my 07 T4S (today). I never had any problems with rattles or squeaks. It was a trouble free car with 19,000 miles. I don't recall seeing any posts from 997 Targa owners regarding squeaks and rattles. I believe that reputation came primarily from the 993 Targas. The 997 is totally different. There are definitely fewer Targa buyers, but also fewer cars to choose from due to much lower production numbers, so it sort of balances out the market. BTW, I only sold mine because here in So Cal, you can't beat a cab.
