992 turbo vs turbo s
Considering getting into a newer model after the sale of my collectible air cooled 964 Cup Car.
What's the main difference between a Turbo and Turbo S power wise? Is it worth it for the extra $30k + for the S? thanks

Both cars are stupid fast and are pretty much at the top of the food chain from a performance perspective. If you really want carbon ceramics and another 70hp go for the S. Personally I would save the 30k and get the turbo but some people just want the best of everything. Good luck...can't go wrong with either one.

Get the S, the difference is well worth it (try to add the options that comes standard on the S to the regular and look at the price)

Yes it is worth it. I went with a 991 Turbo and kept telling myself that the S wasn't worth it. But the additional equipment when added to the Turbo (PCCB and PDCC) made the price closer. I felt like I compromised.

I own a 997.2 Turbo S. The carbon ceramic are fantastic for normal daily driver activity. Zero dust, stunning to look at the larger floating disks and literally last the life of the vehicle (in most cases). It is one of those options that make the car feel like a SuperCar. Porsche's are so understated (which I love) but the brakes really help it stand out "upon closer inspection"
So, I'd say if you plan on doing lots of mods and tracking the car, get the regular turbo. If you will be mainly on the street, get the Turbo S and a tune.

Not absolutely necessary but if one can afford it, I say go for it.

The only thing wrong with my 997 was it wasn’t an S. It was in my budget to get an S, but i thought the base was enough. If the S had been out of my reach then it wouldn’t have been an issue, however I made a conscious choice to not spend the money. And it was a mistake. I always found myself wondering if I should have got the S and it changed how I felt about my car.
S ENVY IS REAL. If you have the means then do it. If you don’t then your choice is made and you don’t need to ask.
