Anybody have any thoughts as to why PCNA is holding my 2021 992 4S in Davisville for 6 weeks (arrived 9/30, due in NYC 11/20)? I can't get a reasonable answer from either my dealer (CA emissions certification) or PCNA ("port handling issues"). Knowing probably won't get it here sooner, but any thoughts welcome. Note: this is model year 2021

No EPA or CARB Certifications for any Porsche's. All other manufacturers have been EPA Certified for their 2021 Model year Engines/Cars . . . but not Porsche.
Some dealers have been telling some folks that the "official" certification date is/will be November 6th. However, no one seems to have any actual documentation to support this date. My TYD shows a San Diego arrival on October 24th. Originally it was to be in my hands a week later.on the 31st. All of a sudden the delivery date for almost everyone is now November 13th . . . a week after the 6th, no matter when the car actually arrived at the port. So who knows.
Thanks. The emissions cert as a reason sounds odd as those regulations have not changed (for the better, anyway) any time recently, and the 2020 model year emissions presumedly would be similar. Upon further reflection, my guess is the delay - I now understand to all 2021 vehicles - is due to PCNA deciding that the 2021 model year will not be released until mid November, regardless of arrival. PCNA did this to me in 1999 when my car arrived in November at the dealership but PCNA refused to release the car prior to the model presentation at the Detroit Auto Show in January. But I remain open to other ideas while I wait. It once again illustrates what high regard PCNA has
for its customers...
