How much for 993 Turbo Ruf ctr2 conversion
Hey guys I was looking at some 993 turbos for sale and would like some info. What years would you guys recommend, and what years would you avoid? Also, in terms of maintenance how reliable are they (compared to 996, would you daily drive one?) Also what is considered high mileage?
Lastly, I have fallen in love with the ctr2 body kit, how much would this run to get just the bodyki, where would I get it.
Thanks for all the help.!!

The 993s are bullet proof if they've been properly maintained. Compared to the 996, the 993 is much more of an enthusiast's car whereas the 996 was designed -- to quote another 6speeder -- to cater to the Lexus crowd a bit. It's still very much a Porsche, don't get me wrong as I've seen some AWESOME 996s; however, the 993TT has zero cup holders. 'Nuf said. The 996TT, by comparison, will have a more updated interior, updated electronics (vs. the 993), and a smoother ride.
To me, high mileage is in the eye of the beholder (I'll let others on the board who are better qualified than I give their two cents)... but a poorly maintained 993TT at any mileage will be a money pit so be careful and get a PPI done by an objective, qualified party.
Personally (and please don't flame me folks), I like the clean lines of the 993TT as they are. But, I've got to admit that the RUF conversion kit is striking. Just be advised that super modded 993TTs -- unless they were done by RUF or similar tuners -- tend to have lower resale values than stockers. Modded cars will naturally appeal to a smaller group since some folks might like their pipes one way, others another. Some might like a RUF kit, others might like a TechArt kit, etc.
Do your homework and enjoy the ride.

You want the CTR2 conversion? Gonna have to sell some body parts for that...I mean like, a kidney, lung...maybe your heart. Then you need to convince Louis to build you one....then you need to wait 2-3 years while he does it.
Save yourself some time, headache and heartache ...sell your house and buy the CTR2 they have for sale at Ruf Dallas...move into a nice trailer and enjoy life. Hell, live out of the car if you need to!

Agree with above. If you buy the CTR2 (from Dallas), you will own a piece of history,
and a car that will HOLD its value, A real RUF. My buddy, and infrequent poster on this
board (LAT), has a Black CTR2 with 580 HP (very rare), and this car is a piece of ART!
Absolutely fantastic with the intercoolers in the fenders, and center exit exhuast!!

Is LAT's car a CTR2 sport as the one on the RUF website? I wouldn't care since I would love to own a CTR2 of any variety. By the way do you happen to know the price of the CTR2 sport on the RUF website?
CTR2 and CTR2 Sport
Yes that is LAT's car, and it is not a sport. The sport has a significantly wider fenders
and body and is much less Aero than the CTR2. That car resides in Germany currently
and has seen ALOT of Autobahn time!!!

I included pictures of a "Sport" here in Minnesota for comparison
(this silver one is much less famous than the yellow one that resides here)
