Did you guys see the 97 993TT S with 600 miles going for $225,000 in LA Craigslist? (Not sure if he is a member here.) I guess the limited production of an TT S and the low miles of this car is warranting such an asking price?

The 993 TT is imo the pinnacle of porsche exterior design. I've been looking for one since 01. Ive had 2 996's since but always regretted not getting a 993 TT. The appeal besides being the last air cooled turbo, is the fact that its pre boxter, cayenne and cayman. Its the last car of an era that really signified what porsche used to stand for. I dont see much difference between porsche and benz and bmw anymore.

I recently saw a 993 carrera 2 in person and was in awe at how svelte it is compared to the rather bulbous 996/7.

I want a 993 turbo once I get the bike bug off of me

The ultimate porsche. Timeless looks and air cooled as it should be. They will continue to go up and good examples will be harder and harder to find. I will have one this year or next. I am always looking.

I agree on the 993 TT being the pinnacle of 911 design. Would definitely love to have one.

The 993 is the best porsche platform in my eyes, it sounds miles better than any 996 and 997 stock Turbo. The sound is very deep and adds a special sense to the car, ohh and the rear spoiler of the 993 turbo is just perfect. I would be crazy to just change a thing to the cars exterior as I absolutely love it from the Turbo twists to the round yet simplistic dual exhaust tips. The interior is simple and just what a "weekend" or a sports car needs nothing too fancy with the electronics like an M6 which needs a Pilot to start getting the 500hp setting and such. Its too bad the car has appreciated substantially for us consumer, It raised to a price of a fully equipped new Carrera S whcih I can get new to my specifications however I tend to like older "vintage" cars and the Turbo S is even more expensive and particularly those that are featured on Slones. I donut mind getting one if money wasn't an object but the 911 (993) turbo maybe the last 911 with the pedigree, nimbleness and zippy feel as it was the Top of the league back then and faster than competitors which the 911 (997) turbo fails to surpass, some say it even feels like a GT rather than a sports car.

Richard Sloan has one advertised in Excellence ,97 TurboS 650 miles for $275,000. remember Porsche is trying hard with their 997 to bring back the 993 with 10 yr newer technology, and I heard we may see a drastic tail light change in the future. has anyone heard this?

I was recently told that Porsche N.A. only made 612 993TTs in 1997. If this is true, which I have every reason to believe that it is, the production figures are much lower than I expected. Aside from their milestone status -- there just aren't a lot of 'em. The laws of supply and demand.

Cheers.

993TT: Air-cooled classic, better looking exterior than 996/997, superior (smaller) chassis, smaller wheelbase and thus superior feel and handling, and well-built so reliable even after ten years....
