I have installed the FVD short shift in two of my 993TT's
[ Looking at the photo on the carenewal site, they appear to be the same product. ]

What is it like ?
In a word superb.
It is what the change should have been from the factory.
The throw is sensibly shorter. [unlike some 996 / 997 shortshifts....which are too short]
There is a small increase in weight of the change.
The selection of gears is more precise.

Installation
Easy...if you have a hoist.
The shortshift lever protrudes lower than the standard gearlever, so the centre torque tube coverstrip under the car will need to be modified.
I have heard of people just hammering them to make the required 15mm clearance.
I had both of mine cut and welded.

The short shift works brilliantly when you have a LWF

In summary, I rate is next to coilovers and LWF as a "must do item"

Cheers

you will find LOTS written about them ....and there are a few variations available.
I found the OEM RSCS LWF [] was the best / easiest to live with.

Okay, installed it last night... absolutely awesome difference in shifter feeling. Definitely worth the money, but I am very upset that I had to cut the center cover... I'm worried about dirt going all up in there now...

Aside from that, totally awesome mod.
