Turbo S on Ebay

Anyone know anything about the red Turbo S for sale on Ebay recently? The owner was asking $126k, which seemed a bit too good to be true I thought. I'd really love to own one of these cars but want to be smart about it. Thanks much!

I considered that car back before the current owner bought it. If it is the car I am thinking about, it had a "rental car" period on its carfax. My memory is spotty and I might be wrong, but I'd suggest a carfax and PPI. Unfortunatley, I can't reconstruct all of the reasons I didn't buy it. I think it was asking less than 120 back a few years ago with only slightly fewer miles.

There was a different car that had the same colors in NJ a while back that I also came close to buying years ago. It had been competely repainted. I don't think this is that car, though.

Hope this helps.

For what it is worth, I still think the price is close to fair even if it has some issues. If it were being sold with a 100% clean carfax and completely known history out of the original owner's garage, it would be a least 20k more. If you get a ppi and are confindent that there is no real issue, that is a great car for the price. The low end on this car if it had been wrecked and properly rebuilt would still be close to 100k. At least 80k. Parting it out probably gets at least half of that.

The car came from Park Place Ltd. While the car may be fine, I'd do a thorough CarFax and PPI because Park Place has a bad rap on RennList and 6Speed. (Check the forums.) Considered buying a Pcar from Park Place a while back and was sorely disappointed in their sales staff... not very reputable IMO. Doesn't mean anything's wrong with the car, but just tread a bit more carefully than usual.

Thanks much for the info gents. It seems there might indeed be a "story" here that needs to be checked out. Based on other Turbo S sales I've seen, the price really seemed quite reasonable - always makes you think. I now need to decide whether to pursue this one or wait for another. Thanks again.

Also looking at the 993 Turbo s

Whats the current market value of the 993 Turbo S? Is $180 k reasonable. There are couple online for $180k, is that a reasonable price or are there better deals?
Whats PPI?

Thx
