Advice on potential 993 upgrades?
I would recommend that you check out the Forgestar F14 flow form wheel for your 993 TT ! This brand new lineup utilizes a combination of the best methods of forging and casting methods both in the same wheel. This is called Flow Form Casting, and is used by companies such as BBS and Enkei. These wheels are made to order and can be made to fit your BMW with a large range of offsets.
Flow Form Casting is a production procedure that turns the wheel (or rim section) over a special mandrel and three hydraulic rollers using tremendous pressure. The pressure and turning then force the rim area to form against the mandrel, creating the shape and width of the rim. During Flow Forming, the rim actually "flows" down to create the full rim width. During Flow Forming, pressure applied to the cast rim actually changes its mechanical properties, so its strength and impact values become similar to those of a forged rim. That translates to up to 15% less weight when compared to a standard cast wheel.
Although these aren't pictures of the Forgestar F14 on a 993 TT I think that you'll get the idea of how they will look on your vehicle. Feel free to shoot me over a PM if you guys have any questions at all!

motorwerks...
the advantange of a 3 piece wheel is that you can pick different finishes for various parts of the wheel and everything can be custom including types of fastners and size and dish depth. also if you bend the rim you can get the rim replace and use your same centers. disadvantage is generally strength and weight compared to monoblocks but all that has changed with all the manufactures coming out with their competition series. monoblocks: way more limited in styles and finish and width when it comes to 18 inch wheels. wouldn't do cf. the state of the art for cf wheels is still not there with respect to durability --- they're 10 grand for a set and if you end up with road rash, they'll be expensive to replace, the turnaround time will be brutally long. check out dpe wheels; i have a bit of a connection there. i paid 3700 for some dpe monoblocks and 6200 for my hre c93. both wheels i love. the forgelines are in between the two in price. if you need me to put you in contact with the guy at dpe let me know. here's a pic of the hre c93's with my 993tt in the background:

Exhaust upgrades
dfwerdoc - Thanks much for the great advice! Good point on the age/wear of the springs. I will hopefully receive some additional feedback from owners of aftermarket exhaust systems. As for the chip, I guess I will just have to live with the 400 ponies
. I have attached (at least I think I have) siome pics.
. I have attached (at least I think I have) siome pics. The fitment of the Fabspeed on my car was worked out. So a non issue now. I removed it and if you are interested I would sell it for next to nothing. I went with the B&B when it came around to motor build time.
Thanks for the feedback guys, I love the bypass pipe sound on the 993 Turbo. We have made some improvements to those pipes and our newest generation Muffler bypass pipes fit nicer and also have a better look with the new tips. Let me know if you have any questions and PM me if you need anything.
thanks,
