Battery in / Battery out

I get all confused info as to if I can remove my 993 TT battery when putting her away, or not. Some claim that it can screw around with all the systems, but most people seem to claim that the only effect is that you have to enter the radio key when putting the battery back in the spring? I also have heard that the first 20 minutes or so she might be unreliable in the spring while the engine is finding it's "settings", something I could live with. Reason for the question is that the garage owner doesn't allow batteries in due to the fire hazard. Comments?

I would not recommend removing the battery but rather hook it up to a trickle charger.

You can remove the battery if you must but be forewarned to go through emmissions testing thereafter car must go through various drive cycles (about a week) to reset onboard monitoring system eg. OBDII
