That car has been sale for a while. And for those reasons it will continue to be a tough sale. Most people who buy a salvaged title vehicle normally get them very cheap and usually keep them for a very long time. If you have no desire in reselling it and get it for a lot less than he is asking, go for it.

...and considering it started life as C4S, $50k seems high IMO.

Possibly the lighting, but the paint looks off between the drivers door and the front fender.

2 months ago I paid in the low 60's a very nice '97 993tt. I've seen a few '96s for around that figure on other web sites. So for another $10k you can get an original (though I have no idea how any of them would PPI)

IMO it is better to have the real thing if you can...
Regardless do a PPI, I did and they found a hidden steering pump leak.
Good luck

A wrecked car might not be a terrible buy, but I would want to look at the pictures of the car before it was repaired. You can look at the repair invoices to help you understand the damage, but pictures don't lie. (except for photoshop I guess)

I looked into this car as well. It has been on sale since last year. It doesn't look like it was rebuilt in the states according to the history. It was imported as salvage into Montreal, "rebuilt" and then sent to Calgary. The car was modified prior to salvage so I'm not quite sure how they got all the records of modifications. If I was a local and the car was priced correctly (40k or less) I would be a little more serious and have it inspected accordingly. My radar always sounds when Montreal is in the picture...cars from Quebec have a bad reputation in Ontario.

Beware, in many states you can't register a salvage car.

Salvage always makes me nervous. Echoing a previous poster, it "might" only make sense if you plan to keep the car. Any short/mid-term sales or flip attempts could put you in the black quickly.
