New to me K24/18g
Hi,
I'm mostly present on the 997TT forum for years as my 993 was already perfect (for me) when I discovered 6spd, and my 997 was new.
This 993 was K24 fitted with cams, engine rebuilt, big intercooler, empty oem exhaust, Sach 2,5 with LFWL, sway bars, etc... And dynoed 560hp/820Nm for 10 years. (100-200 in 7' and 60-130 in 8', repetable, pumpgas)
Recently I was fed up with the white smoke when firing the engine after a week or two and decided to rebuilt the turbos.
I noticed their hot side housing were cracked and bought a pair of K24/18g.
Todd @Protomotive is working now on my ECU for the tuning.
The K24 were the "sport" from FVD (123019/20)
I have no experience with the 18gs, I can't wait to run my 993 with them!

The parts arrived today.
I compared the 18g compressors vs my old K16, K24 and even K04 from the 997: they are way bigger, no doubt they flow more!
I just hope for no more lag vs the K24.

Car is back with the 18g turbos,
For now boost is too high (up to 1,4Bar) and requires octane booster, meth or race gas and we are working on the tune.
No need to say the car is way faster but we will see with the definitive boost.
Btw: no more lag vs my K24.

Almost old thread! We didn't worked on the car last winter.
News:
We had few issues with the boost regulation and ended with a boost controler.
I run an HKVC EVC6 on the 997 but the last Greddy Profec Oled appears perfect for our goal on the 993.
I run pretty low boost for now, 0,90Bar/13psi.
The car is almost as fast as it was by 1,1Bar with the K24 but with less midrange and more top end.
Next week end we will try an improved tune and raise a bit the boost.
I have to say how precious it is to work with Todd@Protomotive!
Have to say as well how much driving a fine 993TT is pleasant, even when you have access to built 996 and 997TT.

Definitive tune and boost are set for weeks now.
Straight pumpgas and conservative 16-17PSI of boost.
The car is mostly more powerfull at top end vs the regular K24.
Average times at 15°C AT went from 7' to 6,5' at 100-200kph and 15´ to 13,5' at 100-250kph. (Glory pull 6.3' and 13,1')
The car is so pleasant to drive I believe Porsche should have sell it like that!
Notice it kills my friend's oem 997.1TT, 991.1GT3RS, 996TT Gemballa GTR, and even stay ahead 2 oem 997 GT2!
(we play rolling runs from 2nd or 3rd to end 5th)
ok, monolog but I hope it can help someone looking for tuning solutions with his 993.

No slouch for sure!
I have no video and never filmed our races, but will perhap's do something to thanks Todd with our 3 Protomotive 911 turbos, each one is epic, reliable and freaking fast! (993-996-997)
nota: the 996 is for now 650hp and still not kill the 993 (heavier and longer gearing) but will probably soon as still in developpement.
