Yeah, he probably told you there's a Santa Claus too . . .

Your Dad's a liar Connor! They didn't make it because the only markets in the world demanding them were Florida and southern California, and that is where all of our soccer players in the U.S. live and train, and EVERYONE knows the U.S. is an up-and-coming soccer power, and the Germans wanted to punish us for our soon-to-be soccer prowess because they viewed us as a threat, so they cancelled the cab out of spite. Of course by the time the 996tt came along, they were a little less concerned about us as a soccer power, and so they rolled out the cab again . . .

It's as simple as that. Don't believe any of that financial mumbo jumbo crap your dad is spouting . . .

Believe it or not, there were 8 made. HOWEVER, the engine powering them was not the biturbo used in the coupe, it was the Turbo 3.6 engine out of the '94 964 Turbo. These cars are not officially recognized by Porsche as being built by the factory, it was basically a job done secretly.

This is true. I read about these 8 special cars in a magazine a while ago.

I have been trying to think of what magazine it was, but I can't remember. I will make sure to post the magazine article, if I can find it.

NAPO, pretty sure it was Motor Trend or Car & Driver (probably Motor Trend)...

It's interesting, because the 964 C4 RS was also built as a special skunk-works undercover operation (24 built I think), but they are recognized by the factory.
